I finished the build today.
Cons : chassis exposes the spur gear and diffs
low quality screws
certain things during the build were finicky
instruction manual is a 2/5
Pros : The chassis has a very clever design
Its a nice car was kind of a pain to build.

Lol. if it was anything like the zero s then I'm not surprised. a lot of people didn't like the screws in the zero s. Perhaps using a tap in the plastic would help the build go smoother. Thanks for the build report. Its nice to get an early look at building this car.

just finished mine. the build was a bit faster compared to the Zero S. the plastic parts is softer though, so no tapping required.

Cons: bulkheads are way too soft. needs to be replaced as soon as the aluminum parts are available.

Pros: Zero Gear diffs, spur gear adapter and suspension mounts fits perfectly.

will install motor, run this baby and see how it handles. Enjoy building!

I glanced at the manual and thought to myself it seemed over complicated and short. Guess I was right. The manual itsself looked nice though, lol.

Cons at this point:
Screws
Bulkheads are soft
Exposed spur gear(can you put tape when need be to close up hole?)

I ran XI Sport yesterday on carpet.

The car ran very smooth, and rotates great.... I could keep up with other carbon chassis.

The track record was 9.9, and I've got 10.0xx best lap, Not bad for fiber glass chassis....

Here are the option parts I used.

3RAC-WX125/PK (Wheel Adaptor (5mm))
SAK-23/PK (Suspension Mount RR+30)
SAK-X23/PK (2 Piece Suspension Mount RF-0)
SAK-X27 (SSK Driveshaft)
3RAC-DP01/PK (Aluminium Shock Spring Base Cover)
SAK-X28A (Aluminum Oil Damper Body)

Will be a new owner soon Thanks TQ racing!
Do have a couple of questions
What is the internal ratio of the car?
Will the new up dated motor mount bring the CG below 4?
What is the weak link to this car with parts?
Plan on running this car with 21.5 spec class w 64 pitch pinions

Internal Ratio is 2.0
Weak links are bulkheads and suspension mounts way too soft.

would you recommend this over the Spec R S1 for 21.5? (maybe 17.5 in the future) asphalt only.

Can't say anything about the spec r. I haven't even seen one. the xi Is an excellent car though. I have the full xi, not the s version and it is glued to the track, very easy to race, easy to work on. I would recommend it to anyone. the xi s should be a great entry point that can be upgraded very easily to a full blown competitor.
