How many people make the drive to SoCal? I am going to start going every Tuesday once I get my Barracuda R2 together, want to find someone to carpool with every other week or something. Went up there last week, and wanted to get home by the end of the day, got from Huntington Beach to El Cajon (Rancho San Diego) in an hour and 5 mins... not bad time... god I love my S2000!

There is absolutely no reason to drive that fast on a public freeway. I definitely know with whom I will not be carpooling.

If I had an S2000, I'd love it too!!!

Might see you out at Hobby Central today depending on the heat index, so-to-speak. My friend just bought his son a micro yesterday, and I'll try to convince him to come along. He gets roots on the weekends though, so I don't know...

Doesn't anyone have a friggin' pro2 upper deck?!?!

I wasnt able to make it to Poway today, had another busy day at work so couldn't get out of there early.

Intelligentsia - I didnt go over 100 the whole way home, not 1 time, of coarse I didn't go under 95 either And since DMV has the plates to my car still, I accidently forgot to pay toll on the 73 hehehe

Lol I remember that well when I actually paid the friggin $3.00 toll and low and behold three weeks later I have a ticket in my mailbox!!

Anyway, that Hobby Central race was mine yesterday until some lapped traffic knocked me out of the stinking race. This is 1/10 scale I am talking about.

Are you ever going to start racing rpnick?

I called out there yesterday and they don't have my part either, so I'm dead in the water right now. Hopefully HPI gets on the job and ships soon because I've forgotten how to drive. I'd get another car, but it isn't in the budget now I'm afraid.

I actually went on the toll road, and didn't see the signs for the toll plaza until it was too late to get off, so I got one of those 30 dollar tickets... Now every time I go to SoCal, I'm just taking the damn license plates off the car and going on a toll evasion trip every week!

I just bought a 2'nd Barracuda R2 since my Web Edition won't be ready for the Hitec race, so I'll be taking it up to SoCal next Tuesday, anyone else goin?

on a saturday, not much...

I only see a toll-road advantage on those 'tuesday-after-work-around-4:30-grid-lock' trips to SoCal....then it saved a good 10-15 min..

the toll road is 1 mile shorted, but as Osherman said, you only need it on tuesday's, it could cut a min of 10 min

Well that's 1 less mile that will be added to the mileage on my car I dont even know how to get up there without using the toll road, does the 5 just go straight to the 405?

Um, yeah.

Once you are pretty close to the Irvine Spectrum you will see a ramp to the 405.
