Has anyone tested top decks on carpet?

  1. Solid top deck vs -
  2. Front cut top deck vs -
  3. Rear cut top deck vs -
  4. Full cut top deck?
I have forever only ran full cut top deck and have a solid top deck to try this weekend.

Curious about options 2 and 3 in red above.

Default Symmetric or asymetric?

Would anyone happen to have any recommendations (track conditions) where one of the damper modes is preferred?

Thanks!

hi Greg
I'm missing the X dim. it is the same as the stock
It could be the same other wise it would change the width
How does is lower the st03 ball?

I am not 100% sure about this. Visually comparing them it looks like the angle was changed very slightly so that the width will stay the same.

Well if they are the same config. as the stock hub, and they lower the center axles closer to the st03 ball, wouldn't that effect the CG

Sorry Mark to respond with a question to a question but when was the last time you used the solid deck?
It seemed the best of all options for me on carpet

Oops my bad you're gonna try solid this weekend. Possibly the only option with new style cut chassis. Get ST27/ST28 and try them too. They make a huge difference in handling.

Hi MDAWSON

You asked about the top deck cut out, it all depends on what configuration you have trans or long?

If in longitude myself and Korgae have Been running the top deck cut out only in the front but all the way through. So cut the three ribs and then keep going until you separate the front.

If pictures are needed let me know. I found it to work the best for me on carpet. It just gives me the right amount of flex I need to run on carpet.

Hope that helps

Thanks Frank. I was referring to longitudinal layout on the L chassis.

I have a front cut top deck prepped. Starting with the solid deck this morning. So far the car feels more direct and reactive. Definitely feels like the car is in the carpet with less 'float'.

Thanks for the feedback.

Franko good to see you getting back to running awesomatix again.

I would say just run the kit as is, I'm not running all the option parts except the servo centering holder ( am24 ) and L chassi.

My car is still the original a700 with the L chassi and the AM24 centering servo holder and that's it. I will in time get the option parts but don't Waite to build your kit and run it.

If you have any questions give me a call and I'll help you out or ask jake or Korgae and I think they'll help you out to.

I'm so happy with my car I can truly say its one of my best touring cars I've owned over the years of racing touring cars.

Any questions just give me a buz you have my number.
