I think I have come up with at least a temporary out drive saver for the spools. If you cut the outer race of a diff bearing apart and just slide the inner race of the bearing onto the out drive after the driveshaft/blade has been inserted to the outdrive slot. then a dab of CA to retain it since it is on the end of the outdrive. I ran it this last sunday and they pretty much stayed put. Didn't have any heavy crashes though. I want to try it on the inner part of the out drive up against the bearing. Will make servicing the car easier.

they been breaking apart in a hard crash and\or spreading apart. it only happens on the right side female out drive. my spools are built to the same specs as Adrian and team does them. these savers at least keep them from spreading apart. more testing in up coming weeks. i have broken about 15 or so in the last 2 or 3 years. been more lately because that is about all i run in the MI2 now

Yeah i stopped running spools myslef. I honestly saw no benefit on the tracks i run on. our tracks are very tight and for the most part short. I thought driving with a spool was easier but not always faster. From what I understand is you guys all run bigger tracks than we do here in lil ole NJ.

i plan on racing the region 12 race as long as i dont have to work. i will find out next week
. hope i will be able to. the car is good on that track. they need to slow that track down a little bit though, tighten it up. too wide open.

I have done the 1/4 turn deal and even a little looser with out any problems the one thing I suggest guys is have a stash of blades because when those go bad the pin starts chewing at the out drive.
