Here is a pic of the tamiya touring car center shock i use with blue spring. It's smooth as butter. If you've never tried a TC shock in the center give it a go.
Only complaint I have is the aluminum front turnbuckles are so weak both bent in the first race. Changed them to the AE ti blue ones pictures below.

What are you doing to plug the hole again after "bleeding" the shock? With every compression of the shock, oil is dribbling from the hole. By the end of a race there's going to be half the shock oil on the battery.
Just placed my order for the replacement shock cap.
What is causing the rebound is how the shock is put together. The plastic shock cap seals with an o-ring into the top of the shock body. When you insert this piece into the shock body you add some volume that will generate pressure causing the rebound.

Pan car dummie here. What part number is the Ti turnbuckle? Also does anyone have any setup sheets for 17.5 and 13.5? I went on www.vbcracing.com but didn't see much for the lightning.

Jerry at this time it doesn't look like VBC offer Ti Turnbuckles we have been using Lunsford on our TC and F1's, but here are the following part numbers and sizes for the Lightning.
A-02-VBC-5053: 3x15mm
B-02-VBC-5057: 3x42mm

Thanks mark that's what I was looking for. You rock man. wish you were on the east coast my friend. I will eventually make it out to your track.. Now let's get Dave or someone to put up some setup sheets.. At this point in my area I know of 2 lightnings and I have 1 of them. We need some support out here. Blake has the other one and he is a 1/12 guy. I'm a shockless tc guy.

I just need to get to the track (@$#& FAMILY & WORK OBLIGATIONS!) and I'll post my setup. I'm guessing something close to my 12R5.2 setup should work. Blue side springs, .020 front springs, 10k in the tubes...not sure on the center shock though. The kit setup feels a bit softer than my AE setup was.
