I have been using been using for a couple of months now on carpet and it makes the car handle so much better. Much better concistency. Lower cg makes it possible to drive it harder without getting unsettle. You will have little less grip. But with the cf chassis grip is like an on off button. Very twitchy.

Been using it in both my 4wd and my 2wd conversion witch by the way handles extremely well. Try it!

So what is actually lower with this chassis? Does the motor and/or battery sit lower in the chassis than stock? From the pictures it doesn't look that way but it's hard to tell for sure.

Were you adding weight to the car before switching to this chassis? If not, I'm not understanding what advantage there would be to adding almost 2 ounces of weight to the chassis.

What kind of tires are you running on the carpet? What else have you changed from the stock setup?

If you don't have them already, I suggest trying the 5 dot ackerman arms. Between those and some expo in my radio I don't find the steering to be twitchy at all. I'm running pin tires all around and the grip is pretty much 100 percent.

I have not done the Serpent caps yet, I'm still running the stock caps since September. One of our local racers has made the change and a few people on here as well have done them.

Hmm, I would have bet a dollar that nobody in here is running the smaller hexes. Did you guys already have 9.8mm wheels and tires from a previous buggy?

Bought the car with them and it had a set of rims. Its our first real 4x4 buggy (I had a durango but that doesn't count, heheheh). The smaller hex seems to work fine. What was the issue with it?

I don't think there is an issue with them.
The original kit comes with I believe 12mm Hexes all around and a optional set of smaller hex. The smaller front hexes are for running the AE wheels, cause some have the 10mm hex. One of our racers at our track had to borrow mine so he could run his AE 4w one day and worked for him.

I've had the car for nearly one week, raced it and ran an all day practice the following day. Driving again today. Here are my thoughts on the car.

The build: easy, 5 stars. All kits should be this easy to build, I did not have one single issue, the only thing I had trouble with was the snap rings on the drivelines to lock the bearings in. Those little suckers were hard to get on!

The car itself: Amazing to look at. Countless people wanted to talk to me about it or just look at it on Friday. This car is insanely durable it's not even funny. I had a large number or crashes that should have broke this car, and it kept trucking. I was drilled full speed by an XB4 and not one single thing broke. I did notice the front sway bar will come out of the mounts once you've crashed enough, but I blame myself for that. You can only ask so much of this car.

I really can't find anything bad to say about this car, I turned my fastest lap ever on my first night out. It was the most fun I've ever had at the track, and renewed my love for this hobby. I can't wait for the D215!

No issue with the small hexes.

I bought the DE Racing setup wheel kit for the D413. When I got the package, it came with two 12mm adapters and two 10mm adapters. I contacted DE through their web site and Dave Enstrom replied to me last night, saying most people are running the 9.8mm hexes in front, as he understands it. He's also getting me fixed up with the 12mm setup I need.

I told him my impression, from rctech, is that most everyone here is running 12mm front and back. So I'm asking you guys to see what reality is as far as the rctech world goes.
