The sensors work with the normal v3 motors? I was thinking they were only for the MMM ones?

I just got back into racing after taking 1.5 years off and decided to go with the GT 2.0 Pro for 17.5 TC. I'm using the latest firmware and was wondering that the "blinky" mode is just profile 0? Or do I need to do something different? Thanks in advance.

You have to flash software 508 in order to get "blinky" mode.

I have been running the +10 (20 degree) and +20 (30 degree) boards in my V3 and 1S V3 motors, so yes they work fine in the V3 motors.

Yes...it does work with normal V3 and 1S V3 motor, as well as the new MMM.

For a 120ft straight, gearing between 6.8 and 7.4 FDR (depending on track / motor combo / ESC settings) is the typical range.

If your temps are coming off at 120F, you can try the following:
45 Boost
18 Turbo
0.1 delay
2 ramp (you can try 1 if the motor temps stay low to see if it likes the timing sooner)
16K for the end RPM, and somewhere between 3000-4000 for the start.
Start at 7.2FDR and see how it responds.

On another note, the option timing boards the Speed Passion sells really wakes up these motors for 1/10th TC use. I am running a 30 degree board (set to 24 degrees) and it really helped get more rip out of the corners due to the mechanical timing advance.

Let us know how those settings work out. Remember to check the motor temps after a couple minutes with the new settings.

EDIT: Just noted that you were 13.5, not 17.5 which is what the settings above are for...... Gearing more like 7.4 - 7.8 FDR for 13.5
45 Boost
18 Turbo
0.1 delay
2 ramp (you can try 1 if the motor temps stay low to see if it likes the timing sooner)
19K for the end RPM, and somewhere between 4000-4500 for the start.

Sorry about that.

Jimmy
trying to figure out the V3 in 17.5 boost.
I have the original sensor board, 2 questions:
1. Do you run with the maximum end bell timing or minimum?
2. The new sensor boards, are they that much better for boosted? +10-20 seems like too much timing
thanks

1. Yes...I have never ran the 17.5 V3 without 10° (max, full right).
2. Yes...that too, the rip is night and day...but of course, once we are running the 20 and 30° sensor, we have to back down the ESC boost/SC but alot to balance it. We did try to use old setup with fast rotor, full timing on motor (totally for testing) and only take 2 minutes the magic smoke came out, rotor in pieces (yes...alot of pieces) and the motor is a solid SPOOL afterall.

For boosted esc racing- I like the 10* sensor maxed.
I have been trying the 20* sensor turned to 15* and
turning down the esc settings a little.

For limited esc class - 30* sensor maxed.

Solara- love ya....punk....

The 30 degree board set to ~23 degree's sure does run nice on the boost .

Hopefully will have the setup fine tuned this weekend.

have been testing this exact setup on large asphalt track, (Moorebank Sydney, 17.5 duo 3, TOP Photon) but I still get hosed down the main straight (1-2 meters)

I have tried gearing up from 6.7 to 6.5, but this did not improve times.
down low it is lacking a bit as well,
(perhaps I am overgeared?)

over 6mins motor is coming off max 137deg F.

can some point in the rite direction for a gear ratio with a 17.5 i am running at 4.5 at the momant and during testing it doesnt seem to be very good.i copied a programme form the speed passion site but i dont notice any boost at all. the motor timing is standard at the momentas it came out of the box.

i am alittle confused at the moment trying to catch up on technolagy not raced TC for 4 plus years

First how much timing are you using in your D3?

With 1 notch off center I would make these changes.....Try taking #4 and go to level 9....take #9 and go to 45deg.....take #10 to 6deg/0.1s....take #12 to 15deg....take #14 to 0s. This should increase the bottom end along with top end.....and gear at 6.7 to 6.5 to start and check temps. Hope this helps some.
