Setup ... question

I have the front shocks in upright position and the rear shocks bit layed down, why does the front feel just the same softer than the rear?

I am using the yellow springs that come with the Surikarn Version.

Well, without wanting to get into a big long explanation... they feel the same because you have the same springs front and rear. The only way to change the leverage of the spring/shock over the arm is to change the mounting location of the shock relative to the arm, not at the shock tower. Changing the position at the shock tower changes the rate of compression realtive to the amount of travel.

This takes some pondering to absorb the concept. I hope it made sense and helped...

bevel gear ......... question, anyone please.

would the yokomo sd's bevel gear be used with the evo3? because i observed that the tamiya's bevel gear is not that durable. I had used all the spare bevel gears that comes with the kit.

Dont know about Yokomo's gear, but the TC3 gears work.

question - what style of screws does the EVO III use? the typical phillips head screw ? or did tamiya step up and use a hex / or torx style screw?

My Surikarn Edition had all Titanium Hex screws. I dont know about the regular evo 3 though.

The regular Evo uses philips head screws.

The regular evo 3 is using the phillips head screws.
I donīt had problems with them but they donīt look very good. I replaced most of them with stainless steel screws but now I got a Square titanium screw set.

Speaking of the Square titanium screw set, how is it compared to the stock Surikarn set? Are the tolerances as tight, screws as strong?

I didnīt had time for trying the Square screws now. But I know from other guys the Square screws are harder than the Tamiya titanium screws so they wonīt strip that easy. No word if there is a difference in weight.

But I have to say if I had a Surikarn I wonīt replace the screws.
