hey have any of you guys tried ceramic bearings??
if so have ya tried boca bearings??
lol if not what brand and how good do u think they are are they a good $ to performance upgrade??

For the dollars, I think it is personal preference. Some people say that if you are running asphalt, do not run Ceramics ( too dirty and gritty). They are a costly upgrade, so make sure you care for them. I ran a set in my original Mi2 for over a year, both indoors and outdoors with no problem, and my drivetrain was always smooth and free. A good set of non ceramic bearings well prepped and well cared for, will be smooth and free spinning also...

My Bearings were Boca, and I have to tell you... they were sooooooo smooth...

Schumacher has historically had a rough time with bearings but anyone with an EC can tell you they the new yellow seal bearings are phenomenally good. Not only are they smooth but they are very tough too.

Adrian is right, the Kit bearings are awesome. Adrian got my order, fast as usual. Those new pinions are awesome....One thing you have to point out to anyone who gets them is that if you get both kits you are missing a number 31. Kit 1 ends at 30 and kit 2 starts at 32. So yes now I need a 31 LOL

Yep. I say stick with the yellow shielded bearings. I happened upon 'em for mi MI2 not to long ago and noticed that once they were worked, they made my drive train free up considerably.

agreed, the Mission and mi2 bearings were prone to flat spotting and sheilds falling off..The new Yellow seals appear to be of much higher standard / tolerance - durability.

I think money is better spent elsewhere (batteries and motors)

The old blue seal bearings were OK. The new yellow ones have been great. I ran them in the old car when they first came out and now in the EC and not one problem. I'll probably get a set of the Schumacher ceramics to try them. I've always been against ceramics before. Like Gavin said, there's a lot of things that you can spend $100 that will give you more of a performance increase than a set of bearings. Especially as good as the new ones are.

Well tried a one way with Chris Ashtons setup exactly as described from the manual last night and struggled all evening only making the C Final. Far too unstable and twitchy it was pretty much uncontrollable even with the roll bar on the front and various other changes to try to calm it down. Its a really small tight track (11 second laps) ended up using the diff again in the final and improved on my qualifying time by over a lap which would have put me in the A. Am I doing something wrong or is the one way just the wrong choice for this type of track?

I say compare the two setups if you have time. I find when i do that i can usually find what i did wrong. Otherwise you are likely to make the same mistake from one setup to the other.
