New Graphite Hubs:
Xray have recently released some additional Graphite hubs for the T4 lineup. The 4° Graphite C-Hub has been out for some time and is known to improve steering on entry, and in general makes the car turn better. This has been the go-to c-hub on asphalt for many on the Xray team, though it is not needed on high bite carpet. The Graphite rear hub tends to make the car more stable, especially on corner entry. We are still working on gathering input on the new Graphite steering block, but for the moment feel that it should improve steering response. All Graphite parts are approximately 1g lighter than the Hard or Medium options.

Option Parts to consider:
XRA301196 T4 Graphite Upper Deck 1.6mm V2
XRA301226 Foam Bumper – Hard - highly recommend

Personally, I have little experience with the std shock setup (bar building them with 4x1.1 and 450oils)... but with the PSS, I prefer either 500 or 550 oil, with the foam in the top. Find the foam helps to increase the pack a smidge, which is good with the softer initial of the progressive feel.
Oh, and thats with 2.7's all round, outdoor low-med asphalt.

Not entirely. I've been running my topdeck raised on anything from low to super high grip. My home track usually gets extremely sticky, to where your shoes stick to the track and your shoes leave black marks on the tile around the track when you're done marshalling. I like the Avid 1.5 Hard TD raised 1mm w/ the motor mount post no matter how high the grip gets. This makes the car smoother and less likely to tip or traction roll, although it can cause the car to be a little too stuck. I've also determined that I like a lot more flex than anyone else in my area. I've run both the 15 and 16 with the TD down, more screws, less screws, hard TD and soft TDs and I always return to the same thing.

As long as the TD isn't touching the layshaft mounts when it flexes, I don't believe there is a difference. 0.5mm may not be enough clearance to avoid that.

So you're no longer running a Tamiya ? Your website is in need of an update ;-)

Don't ask me how I know, but if you break a topdeck, a little work with a dremel can yield a nice light and easy to use set of top deck shims.

Haha... yup. Have actually got any orange transfer post in the drafts... but since getting involved with the local sanctioning body here, along with other hobbies, haven't had a lot of time spare too finish it...

The 1 time I ran 21.5 I ran a 94/49 which is a 3.64. This was on an open layout on an 80x36 high bite carpet track. My notes say normal gear is 3.4-3.7 for 21.5. I don't recall where my timing was set though. This was with a Motiv M-Code.
