Yes, but I think that is the same as I am suggesting? The chassis should bottom out and not the shock body, but there is some play so the retainer doesn't hit the shock body when the chassis bottoms...

Are you sure your shock shaft length is correct? Should be 9mm from the damper housing to the plastic part. There should be a little bit of thread showing.

It mounts the same as the older Montech wing with 2 screws. The holes are on the same place but the plastic is less thick so if you use the U8174 Wing thread insert kit you need to add some spacers....

I think if the car is build like the kit setup there wont be any shims there. If you remove the e-clip from the king pin you can put shims between the spring and the e-clip.
