Stupid question: did you calibrate your esc again after firmware update?

Also, I myself prefer to factory reset the esc at least 3 times, just to be sure it is truly resetting...

Try to set channel 2 (throttle) to REVerse signal on your transmitter. Or when already in REVerse, set to NORmal direction.

Not true at all. Most of the above brands have different cross pin depth in the wheel hex, so you might need to fill the space between wheel hex and bearing with some shims. Or some of the cross pins...
