What is the timing set to on all the motors going "poof"? Anyone care to chime in? I've never ran more than 50' on any motor i've owned and never had a problem

Lipo cells are good until they drop below 3.0 volts. If you have a 2 cell lipo (3.0 x 2cells=6.0volts) So if a 2 cell lipo drops below 6.0 volts it will ruin it.
the receiver works down until 3.5...

Sounds like you burnt the "foward" fets out on the esc. It still goes in reverse because the reverse fets are not burnt out. If thats the case you can put the 10yo receiver back in and shouldn't have...

Theres a way to change the cutoff. I have, and still use the indi booster and there is a pot inside that you can adjust so the tray stops at .9 for Ib cells.

Just use ca. I use the tip of an old screw driver, dip it in the ca and wipe it along the edge of the chassis. I have tried q-tips but some of the cotton gets stuck on the chassis.
