Tried another Windows10 machine. Same 1 green LED and 1 Red on the ESC. Nothing popped up to says its installing a driver, should it? This machine doesn't have Hotwire software on it.

Long shot, but I have just got hotwire for my RS Gen. I plug it into my Win10 laptop. I get a single green led on it, and on the ESC, a single red LED. The software doesn't recognize its plugged in....

There is great gearing info in the FF03 thread. You wanna go pretty tall, but the track will likely be the decider. Internal gearing is 2.6.
