All I can say is mine works. I use my PC to setup it up. I have had no issues yet. I got it in mid November. I've successfully performed firmware installations. I have not don't much tuning to test how well things work when you move away from the defaults, but I think it will be ok.

Best ESC that i have came from TEKIN, HW & orion r10.1. When first time to set up i hate it because bought android that won't work but some android that works and i have a windows computer download HMX program it really works great super smooth compare to other brand.

I haven't found one so far but there really isn't that much to it, connect speedo with phone, tablet or pc with the ridiculously short cable they ship the speedo with. Download the HMX app and try to connect, this is where I run in to trouble every time as I have to reconnect the cable and restart the app a bunch of time for it to start but all of a sudden it works. There's some kind of magic involved!

But once you have a connection between phone and speedo it's easy to adjust things.

One big thing is that the setup is wrong as it says you should pull full throttle, release and then click next. You need to hold the throttle when clicking next, same with brake just like every other speedo I have owned at least.

I've ran this esc one practice day so far box stock without changing anything and it felt very good with a 5.5, throttle and brakes both very smooth. for the Android guys with newer phones best buy has a type c to mini usb cord, think insign makes it, 6ft long and works great for my galaxy s8

Default Super smooth

This esc is insanely smooth. Just ran it for the first time last night. Am an iPhone user but bought a cheap android tablet connected it to WiFi, downloaded the app and calibrated Speedo and was very impressed with it. The app is pretty cool and fairly easy to use and I like that you can save settings and name the files.

This is my first speed controller in like forever. It’s much smoother than the rotary speed controller I used to use and it sparks less.

But seriously, very smooth on the throttle and brakes. I use my PC to set it up which I think is a straight forward operation, even if I t doesn’t have a high-tech interface. I haven’t experienced any issues yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I do.

The tablet is a cheap RCA voyager 3 or something like that, it was $50 at Wal-Mart and I picked up a cheap case for $5. Make sure its an android tablet if you buy something different. I believe you have to be on wifi for it to connect to the speedo but I could be wrong on that part, I say that because I downloaded the app on wifi but then went to the track and was not on wifi and it kept telling me to connect speedo but after connecting to wifi at the track it went through but may have been a coincidence.

i set mine as low as it would go, I only race and charge my lipos after each run, keep in mind while running your voltage may spike lower than your cutoff depending on what the battery voltage may be

Has anyone had issues with this esc losing calibration? I took it out for a practice day and ended up having to pull it out because it seemed to reset every time I unplugged the battery. I would have to re-calibrate with every battery. I thought I had it figured out switching my receiver but I went out for some practice today and it did the same thing!

I read through this whole thread and tried calibrating 50 different ways and I’ve gotten the same result.

BTW-I’m using a Sanwa m12s with 481 receiver
