Does it need to be fitted on the gel tape also?

I havent had any issues with mine. however, i have mine padded up good in my ebuggy, i also have it on doubled up tape

im not sure what issues you speak of.. i have numerous receivers that i use in different vehicles.. from 1/8, to 1/10. been using them for some time now.. i have 413's, 211, 241..

I m refering to the issue of the receiver and the broken crystal.
Apparently some people break the receiver very easily and i was asking if it was related to one specific receiver or all of them can be affected.

I've had three 211's die. Two had less than an hour's use. I've never had a receiver fail until these, and since using the knock offs, I haven't had any more problems either. The crystals ko use seem very fragile.

ok so the padding under the receiver is still critical.. i eard that the gel tape is not as sticky as other 3m tapes, any recommendation on which one to use?

the ones I have work fine on 7.4V. The little one says it will take up to 12V

Well, I updated my firmware on my EX2. worth it to have english only on the screen! Much less cluttered. the knock off receivers still work fine with it too.
