The smurf paint job is too played out to win concourse. I dont need to worry about that. I bought a set of treaded tires in case the slicks dont make it in time. So I should be good as long as the body holds up. I've re-enforced it quite a bit.

I think the Cuda and Mustang bodies are a little thin in the front, but as scootr117 said, stay off the boards and you'll be ok. I've run the treaded tires for four or five races and the fronts are wearing a little, not bad. I haven't run the slicks, but I've run other HPI slicks and they held up well.

MD, you joining us in Dayton?

I wouldnt worry about being on the boards with a TC body but from what Ive seen of the handling of the vintage bodies, they dont handle the best. I'll get it worked out this weekend. Im running the cuda body.

About the bodies... I can talk about the Cuda body. I did epoxy and reinforce the front lower spoiler. For the rear roll pan, I epoxyed and screwed the roll pan to the rest of the body. If the track is gonna be small, I recomend glueing and screwing roll pans on all the vintage bodies. If not, a hit in the rear will take that pan off.
As for the tires. If you can heat up those tires before your race, that would be best. Traction is a major factor with vintage, but that makes it more fun!!
These cars look better the more you race them. The tire marks on the sides, the dammaged look on the fronts. They look real after racing.

If only I would have known who the second place finisher would have been I would have reconsidered

Nice to see it go to someone local who fought hard and had a great finish.

Thanks to Andy Hillman (AndyH) and Randy Castle for putting on a top level race. Traction was good, layout was fun, hobbyshop was loaded with any thing HPI you could want, This race needs to come to Ohio every year

What are the details on the Virginia race? I saw on Debbie's website they have an indoor track. Do they also have an outdoor track?

We are still working that one out. John Shultz and Collin Cocores will be working that event. I'll ask them what's the status and have them chime in here.

Thanks,

AH
