Well to your credit I had better wind then you did. There was basically no wind on Saturday so almost everything I applied actually made it to the track . Plus I got the 180 nice and tacky all the way around from board to board which made it a lot easier, esp if you missed the sweet spot.
I'll let you take it on the windy days

Getting this back on the radar. The race is only a few weeks out. Hope all of you HPI/HB racers can make it. Randy/Hobby Shop puts in a lot of time and effort to make this race one of the best...........

For those traveling into town for the race, here's a couple Hotels:
Spring Hill Suites by Marriott
Mention "The Hobby Shop HPI Challenge", and get a $124 room for $89.
937-432-9277
This is an great deal for a nice hotel.
Other Hotels:
Red Roof Inn
937-866-8630
Knights Inn
937-859-8797
Holiday Inn
937-434-6804
All 4 of these hotels are within about 2 blocks of the shop.
We're right next to the Dayton Mall, so a ton of shopping, food, and entertainment in the area. Plus, there's several restaurants in our shopping center, including an Applebees, Lone Star Steakhouse, and Roosters Sports Bar.
Our shop is a 4,200 sq foot store, loaded like few other shops in the country. We will have plenty of parts, and people on hand to help you.
We have a new layout just for the HPI Challenge, which we will be posting a scan of the plans here very soon.
The track is 128' by 72'. All lanes are at least 12' wide, with a 16' wide straight, and 16' wide sweeper at the end of the straight.
The driver's stand is 24' long, and we comfortably get 10 people on it regularly.
For the Monster Truck guys, we have jumps for the center of the track, not high launching jumps, but enough to make things fun and interesting.
Track is very flat, we've ran Mini-Z's on it before. For the 1/18th class, we will be re-arranging the track so its about 50% the size of the regular track. We've got it set up so we just have to move one barrier, so track switchover will only take a couple minutes.
We held this race a couple years ago, and had 103 entries. We'd love to break that this year. So everyone get here for a really fun and exciting race!
