Default what engine is this?

I reckon its a .21 of some kind. It came out of a serpent, but could it be a heli or plane engine? Ive never seen on like it.

it has a short threaded crankshaft.

thanks

Looks like a Rossi. I have here a Serpent P6 engine based on a Rossi with a same kind of exhaust connection and cooling fins on the crankcase.

The clutch seems a Serpent Quatro.

Judging by the "R" on the block, I would say it's a Rossi as well.

Thanks guys.
Roelof, you are right, its a quattro clutch.

The internals are primitive looking. However, i dont think its been run.

How old would you say this engine is?

my guess is about 25 to 30 years old

neat! there are some similarities for sure.

I have found specs for serpent "s-power" engine

The crank looks very similar, just shortened i believe.

That is a Rossi 3 port motor from 85/86, The S power was later 87/88 which had 7 ports. Both motors made by Rossi (now Axe Rossi). If you decide to sell the motor i would be interested, Please let me know. Martin.

Ok, yes, it is a 3-port engine.
Internally this engine looks new. would you happen to know, is the sleeve chromed or is it a nickel plate?

once again, thanks for the good info.

The liner is chromed, The engine has also deff been run.You can tell by the rub marks around the piston and rub marks around the crankshaft along the 13mm diameter part (between outer and inner ballraces). Regards Martin.

Interesting that it has the oil whole in the crank pin. And here most of us thought OS was being innovative when they came out with that.

Rossi used the oil hole through the pin for about 3 years from around 83-86, Unlike OS which didnt have any oil holes in the rod on the VZB the Rossi rod had 3 oil holes as well as the diagonal hole in the pin. Their rod had one hole through the face of the rod above the big end as rods do today and they had two more holes through the side of the rods big end.Regards Martin.
