Default CAN YOU USE OS .21XZ-R ONROAD ENGINE ON OFF ROAD BUGGY OR TRUGGY???

Is there any reason you wouldn't want to use an on road engine on a off road buggy or truggy...? All I am concerned about is top speed runs, no turns, no competition events.
Thanks in advance for any input.

you could.. the onroad engines dont have the bottom end torque as the offroad engines do.. try it and see what happens..

If all you're doing is speed runs why not just buy an on-road car?

If all you want is speed, a good .28 will probably give you more. Especially if you get someone like Murnan or Clockwork to mod it up for you.

For top speed a .21 will wind out more then a .28.. A .28 has more grunt..

BUt like has been said, get yourself an on-road car you will be amazed at the difference in speed and better ease of control..

For this there are also rallygame engines, they are a step between offroad and onroad.

True, but with some companies a Rallygame engine is nothing more then an onroad engine with the bigger coolinghead of the offroad engines.

depends on the weight of the vehicle being pushed...if its very light then a .21 can wind out better...but if its a offroad machine like a Truggy a geared 28 will kill a .21..... 21's can rev higher, but only if they are pushing a light load, under a heavier load a 28 will push much better.....

I had couple friends try it... Engines got a little hard to tune and temperatures were all over the place. The on-road engines had no bottom end and when they started hauling they were uncontrollable, but fast indeed jeje

onroad engines are timed and designed completely different than our offroad engines

i have seen a few that work fairly well but not adviseable , always use the stiffest springs you can if you do attempt it

If your Jack Russel can catch a 1/8 buggy with even a crappy nitro engine in it, then that dog needs to be running against GreyHounds at the track.

My dog loves chasing the Hyper SC10...

this truck is fast and can easily keep away from a dog....best part is it doesn't break the bank
