Lube your dog bones with moly-disulfide grease when you assemble and you won't have this problem. I have a small container of this stuff that I dip the dog bone ends up to the pins in and then assemble. I dis-assemble my car and clean/re-lube the axles like this after every race. My rear spool is showing some slight wear but I've been running the car for over a year now.

fix for shocks and linkage popping off
Delta/Kyosho linkage and shock absorber popping-off fix
I love the car but HATE the shocks and linkage popping of in even the most minor of racing mishaps.
Here is what it takes to fix this once and for all!
1) I replaced the bottom shock snap on ball (located on the lower arm) with a Serpent 1650. I held these on with Serpent 1241 M3x12 allen head screws that I screwed in from the back side so that it extended through the arm. and I then cut it to the proper length.
2) I replaced the plastic end on the shock rod with Serpent 909403 rod ends.
3) I had to grind the shock spring retainer (just a little) so that the 909403 would fit into it.
4) Next I replaced the Delta linkage with Serpent 902128. I used Serpent 1241 M3x12 screws through the bottom of the steering block to secure the linkage on the outboard end of the linkage. The existing screw on the servo saver fits the Serpent 1650 ball.
Now I have to use a 3mm wrench to remove the lower shock. The ball stays inside the rod end. The ball is set-up so that a 3mm wrench fits it. The shock is much more secure and still easy to remove when I want to take it off.
Since I made this change I have not had the shocks or the linkage pop off. Prior to this modification I had them pop off a number of times each race day.
Here is the bill of materials to do this job
1650 Balls 6mm/ setscrews (4) = $7.75 ea package - 2 packages are required
909403 ball-joints 6mm short (4) = $3.00 - one package required
1241 screw RH allen M3x12 (10) = $8.50 - one package required
902128 track rod set = $10 - one package required

Exhaust Hole or Flap?
Do you cut a hole or flap in the side of your body for the exhaust
to outlet? I have been getting a lot of crud inside my bodies lately,
and I'm trying to cut down the mess.
Thanks

Pillow Balls
FM 337 if I understand correctly. Those are the large ball ends used with the hub carriers.

hey all,
wow talk about some frustrations today. I thought the car was going pretty quick when i qualified 4th in open at RAMS after running the car 3 times untill the main. the car was running and handleing really good, just down on power! Im running an OS Version 2 and it just wouldnt keep up. so while trying to run faster then was possible a board came out of nowhere and pulled my dog bone out lol.
what engines are you all using? i had my eye on an RB MODS Nova 321p
but man this 8th scale stuff kicks butt!
