Hi

I have the V-1-RR JC edition and want to change the spur and clutch gears to increase the speed but the slots in the chasis are 90 deg to what I expected. They dont allow me to move the engine to accomodate the larger gears (I havent got them yet so am assuming this)

Has anybody had trouble fitting the larger gearing to the V1RR?

Cheers

You do not need to move the engine the gears fit perfectly.

Looks nice.

I assume this is a converted V1RR rather than a full new EVO kit?

AMG,

Thanks and Yes... I got the WCE beforehand, so just made do with the conversion kit... Now I can use the old shimo chassis as a weapon on the track...

You commented previously that you are planning to use the LSD soon. Are you using the LSD with the provided oil or some other grade of silicon oil?

I originally used the LSD with merely the supplied oil. The oil has the smell of real car LSD diff oil so I assume it contains some anti-wear agents and the like. I then added some 10K oil to the diff along with the LSD oil (around 30-70 mix of lsd to 10K) and this stiffened the diff up just a little. To my hands it felt nice.

This is not scientific But I think you want some of the LSD oil in there to prevent wearing of the parts.

Thanks, the left and right brace are both from Kyosho. The left one seems to differ from the ones you get as option parts from the shelf because I think the belt guide is a running change... I have some problems with getting the bearing on the right brace to sit flush, so i got rid of the bearing.... Not too sure if i was unlucky to get a faulty part...

Yah, another thing i forgot to add... since i am using the 9550 as throttle servo, i could put the KO failsafe below it, face down, and still leaving substantial clearance for adjustment.

Just not too sure how long the puny servo can last though.

A 9550 is NOT puny!! That is a damn good servo for a throttle/brake application.

I had 2 x 9450 on my car till they went bang.

I ran my dead stock EVO with a puny JR and a Hitec 303BB and I tell you that the car felt as good as my V1RR with the 9450!!

Not saying I wont be getting better servos of course!

Sooo . . . . who's doing Evo testing this weekend?

We plan on running at Lilydale on Sunday, but rain is forecast.
