Hi
Thank you for the pictures.

For Hpi driveshaft, I do not try because of this doubt. The axle HPi is 8x11x36 and 8x12x34 for durango. I think Ball will be smaller. Remains to be confirmed.

has anyone had this problem? it seems to me that TDR310231 ball end is a a tad small for the mid drive shaft.

There is some slop in mine, but definitely not 3mm. I used the pin/barrel for the non-clip version and it seems to help. You can see how the ends of the pin aren't rounded off so there's less play.

She is all ready to roll. Just have to wait two weeks before I can run. It sucks having a brand new truck just sit there and stare at you. Especially when you really want to race lol.

Our Durango Nitro Parts are 50% off MAP prices. We have about $2000 worth of parts ready to send out to lucky racers. Please PM me if there is anything you are looking for.

I spent last week tearing the truggy down and for the most part I am fairly impressed with how well things held up. I would guess I ran about 12 full race events last year, here is a list of things I discovered when tearing down:

1. Most bearings were fine...although I still replaced them all since I buy Avid's and there are only a dollar. The bearings in the diffs were the worst.
2. Shocks didn't leak at all...fluids were a little discolored but not by much. I replaced all the seals and refilled them anyway.
3. My steel FF hanger looks to have done better than the aluminum one, but there may be a TINY bend in it (it's really hard to tell).
4. The plastic toe inserts for the front suspension were shot (anyone make metal ones?). The rears were a little worn, I went ahead and replaced them.
5. All A-arms are good...hardly any slop, hinge pins didn't oval out any of the holes. It does look like one of the front inner hinge pins was bent a hair...I replaced both the front inners just in case
6. My front right driveshaft is bent...it's the same one I keep bending, I must crash one that side a lot more! I left it as is. I have a replacement one, but since you can't get any spares currently, I am going to keep it until it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
7. Replaced rear wing. First one was bent and wouldn't bend back into shape.
8. Replaced the clip assemblies for the front and rear driveshafts where it attaches to the input shafts...the pins were in pretty bad shape.
9. I changed out the pins in the driveshafts themselves. BTW, these appear to be 13mm, but I could only find 12 and 14mm replacements. I got 14s and dremeled them down do they wouldn't interfere with the brake discs.
10. Diffs were 1/2 empty...I put on new seals and refilled.

It seems like most of this is normal wear and tear. No big dollar items needed replaced. I did upgrade a few things. I got the green/silver springs and the machined blank pistons, which I drilled out to 4x1.4. I also got the carbon fiber radio plate and the aluminum throttle/brake/steering tie-rods. I also bought the PSM brake discs. Can't wait to start it up and get it out on the track again!
