Default Losi 8Truggy 2.0 or Ofna X2 CRT Truggy

Ok peeps well the season out here is gonna get started and wanted to get a Truggy but dont know which one to get. I will be hopefully running this bad boy at Crystal Park or Rev. so if anyone could chime in and help me out let me know what you think. The 8T is only about $70 more then the X2 and im not really worried about getting parts since i can get both parts pretty easy. So here is what info im looking for:

1. 8T 2.0 or X2-CRT
2. What engine .21 or .28

Thx for your help i have a crt.5 with .18tz in it. Its fun but not for racing so thx for the help in advance.

i recently switched from a jammin x2crt to the losi 8ight-t 2.0, i have raced the losi around 5 times, bearings have gone bad, shock ends were stripped, boots were torn, its just not the best quality, only thing i had to replace on the jammin after 8 race weekends was a front arm, everything else held up really good

handling wise the losi out of the box just didnt feel right, the rear seemed to delay mid corner then break loose, i changed wheel base and rear diff fluid and the last time i raced it, it was on rails turned hard, jumped good, accelerates hard, its really stable

the jammin was a good truck right out of the box with the chad bradley set up, the truck turns hard, dosent accelerate quite as hard as the losi or jump quite as good as the losi but it works well, only reason i switched was because i allready had the losi buggy and just wanted to stick with one brand really had no complaints on the jammin at all, i was actually quicker with the jammin then the losi, didnt see any improvement with lap times at all

neither truck needs a .28 to get around, a strong .21 is the ticket matt goush just won motorama with the ebmod race prepped in the jammin x2crt

Both trucks are good. I have the X2 but I watched both race and the Losi looked more sure footed. If your gonna want setup help goto the track and see which has better support.

For engines. a 21 will give a bit more runtime. The 28 will have more power. U can get a GRP 21 modded from PowerHouse for $260 shipped. He also has some GRP .28 with his Race mod for $280 shipped.

Hope this helps. Takecare

cjm1126- thx for the reply and the help. yah i hear you on the one brand thing. So i good tuned .21 should do the job. So for out of the box racing the X2 is the ticket but the 8T needs a little lovin to make it feel better. Thx again

if your track is a little more on the rutted side the losi might make it threw the rough stuff better, i race on nice hard packed well groomed tracks, the losi does seem to soak up bumps a little better then the jammin mainly because of the size its longer and wider

For me Losi 2.0 no question. It handles better than any truck I have driven. Last weekend I let a friend who consistently drives an X2 take the wheel of my Losi and after a tank of gas he was convinced that the Losi was far superior to his X2. There is a little bit of personal preference but in my opinion the Losi has more advanced tech and the parts support in my area is excellent. I can always find parts for it. I haven't messed with the stock setup too much besides adding smart diffs. I absolutely love the smart diffs trouble free no hustle right for every track. For engine a high quality race .21 is the best of all worlds. It gives power everywhere and does not overpower the truck. The runtime properly tuned is in the 10 min range nearly double of a .28. I use GRP's but any .21 will work fine (nova, orion, ninja, reedy, RB). I love my 8T 2.0

i would think the losi would be better there, really big jumps and wide open racing, the tracks in fl arent quite that big

Frank L- thx for stoppin by yah i kinda moving towards the Losi due to the more stable stance. Yah the .21 seems like the ticket for this ride. Man so many engines to choose from i guess i comes down to price and preference. Pretty much looking for the best all around engine. thx again

I have no personal experience with a jammin x2 truggy but I have owned 3 jammin x1 truggies and a ton of losi 1.0 truggies and even with that comparison the losi was waaay better. But now I'm driving a 8ight T 2.0 truggy and I love it. I'm running it with a GRP .21 "non tuned" and it runs excellent. If you were local I'd let you take it for a spin.

So my vote is T 2.0 with any good .21 engine......

I would personally go with a Losi T 2.0 and as Bob said a Powerhouse Modded .21 GRP and I guarentee you will be satified. Plus check your LHS to see which brand they have parts for that may persuade your decision as well.
good luck with what ever you chose

Remember when you get the losi, it takes about an hour of run time for the car to break in and then it feels really good. In the begining it might feel a little loose.
