Getting close to build time. Got Losi bladders and Dubro 3.5x25 screws and RCM conversion en route. But it's a little harder to find decent tires....something with a deeper tread but not monster truck size. It seems like most tires available are small-pin/fuzzie type for racing. I'm not racing. So I've come down to 3 choices, Caliber VTR, Badlands 3.8, and Losi XTT (from the 8T kit). Are there any better options that still have decent tread depth for running in loose dirt and grass?

Edit: Thanks Cerberus for finding a cheaper alternative!

Don't know if they'll work,...do MT tires fit on truggy wheels???,....hmmmm,....been a while since I owned a MT. MT wheels more than likely have the incorrect off set.

since you won't be racing offset won't matter as much. i was saying to just buy a set of mt wheels and tires.

you could mount mt tires on truggy wheels, but the tires would have to be cut, or stretched.

Badlands destroy loose dirt and grass. They throw up roost like a moto! I have them on D8Te. Highly recommend, Traxxas bead versions fit perfectly on 4" Proline wheels.

Default New Build 801xt

Just got done. Still have to paint the body. Tons of build tips from this thread. I have 2 more kits on the shelf. One for parts and maybe an e-conversion...

I'd like to use a truggy(ish) tire for this over an mt tire to save weight on the drivetrain and overall. I'm not averse to mt tires and will probably pick up a set in the future.

Badlands are definitely high on the list, giant roosters are wicked....I have a set of them on my Bullet and they are awesome! I'd expect the same result from them on the 801xt.

I have Calibers on 2 other 1/10 2wd vehicles and they've been great, and they're very light.

This is my first 1/8 trug and I didn't know tires and wheels would be...such an investment! Just trying to get it right.

Kyosho parts are supposed to be a direct fit for drive train stuff. I have plastic 46t waiting at home to try, but won't be back in USA until this weekend. Will let you know.

Kyo one is less than $5 also!

Awesome, couple options. I got a chance to look at the arms for the Kyosho stuff, some of them awfully close to the arms for this truggy. Since parts are hard to find, I've been eyeing other trucks arms to see if a replacement is available for the future.
