Default engine

I'm curious to know just how many people had to trim their engine mount in order to clear the rear driveshaft. Did you need to trim cody's in order to fit that CRF PK?

I had to trim for the SPEED but not for my newly installed Orion.

+1 OS cases need a bit of shaving on the block tab, but the Orions just slide right in

I have both engines. The Team Orion CRF 5 port and I mocked it up and it appears its going to hit. I also have a OS speed xz-b and it looks like it may ever so slightly clear but in the event of chassis flex it would likely rub.. I personally hate the idea of shaving my engines but it appears I may not have a choice..

What oriion motor do you guys speak of?

Its really not a big deal , you guys really should trim pretty much all engines as the rubbing occurs mostly during chassis flex

yes for MP9
Re: engine fit I initially thought my Speed VZ-B was fine but many others said they had to shave off some metal to make theirs fit. Couldn't understand how mine could be any different from anyone else's & turns out that the blue 777 blocks I used are slightly taller than the brown MP9 blocks, enough to lift the engine out of the way of the rear centre driveshaft. I put on the MP9 blocks a month or so ago & had to dremel a bit of material to allow the engine to fit without any contact.

Hi Nicker. I do use the dremel and shave the flange on the drive shaft side of the engine. Even though the engine might go in without it, I like to do this for clearance. I just don't like the idea if the chassis flexes it might rub, and also the heat transfer from the engine to driveshaft and gearbox. I like the extra clearance..
