Losi 8ight building and setup
#7397
any 28 should fit, I have a feeling he has not moved the engine mounts since he probably bought the truck used and it was setup for a 21. seems very self explanitory but who knows.

Or he may be talking about the poblem that GRP owners run into as well... the case of the motor hits the mounts and it causes everything to not line up... Maybe not though.
Simply dremel the mounts. The one piece mount will be no different.

Ok i was looking at getting a new body for my buggy 8ight an i am not sure if there is a performance difference between the one i was looking at. The track i run at is pretty big. with some med sized jumps.
These are the bodies i was looking at
Crowd pleaser
Hardrive
And the Jconcepts one(not sure what its called).
Thanks

I like the look of the Jconcepts body. I should be receiving mine tomorrow. I have Jconcepts for my 8T and it looks good. I've heard they hold up pretty well. The proline one's look good as well but I haven't owned one for the
8ight or 8ight T. I have owned many other Proline bodies in the past and they seem to fit well and they hold up pretty good!
Either one you will probably be fine with...I've heard the Jconcepts sits lower on the 8ight than the Proline one thus helping aerodynamics.

thank you for the help, much appreciated. My first Losi in 5 years, so wasn't sure what the best way to go about this is.

Crewman, I have a JC Illuzion on my 8ight right now. Love the way it looks and fits. I'll try to remember to shoot a pic tonight.
Spawn_X, my post wasn't meant as a smart alec remark, hope it didn't sound that way. I don't have an 8ight-t so I honestly don't know. Sounds like you got some good advice though. I can tell you on the 8ight (and I'm sure on the truck also) when you tighten the engine mounts you want to be sure the clutch bell and spur gear are square to each other. Otherwise you'll eat gears and blow clutch bell bearings.

max life
I recently just started racing a losi buggy. Been racing truggy. I have a race roller. I broke in the engine and raced one weekend on the stock clutch shoes. They were gone in this amount of time. A local gave me some worn out max life shoes that had little life left and the difference is amazing. It hits alot harder now. With those shoes i have raced one full weekend of club racing and put in one long day at the Nor/Cal champs. Practice, quals, C, to B, then won the A. You cant beat them.

LOL.. im sure it would be all pretty bling bling, cause when mine first was assemblied with cabron fiber parts, it was gorgeous! but after 6 races.. its goin from pretty to "prodived raced" beaten up.. haha.. though i never had any problems with carbon fiber chassis, shock towers, and im lovin the brakes, they work out real good though i keep sandin them for every race..

Crewman, here's a shot of my car with the Jconcepts Illuzion body on. Not sure the profile is any lower than the stocker, but it fits very well, and I've always liked the roof scoop on the Illuzion. Another shot with the body off just for grins. And yeah, for you old guys, that's a brand new OS RG on it, LOL.
