Yup, kinda like the Maxx trucks in that respect. I'm going to be getting a stock Savage X 4.6 soon myself, just break in ran on it and then shelved. My buddy runs all gassers now so I've got him holding the Savage for me

I'd like to see HPI start supporting models longer like Traxxas does. At least the parts that commonly break anyways. It's a nightmare hunting parts for my Rush, but I can still find new parts for the narrow suspension T Maxx. You can still find TQ3 27mhz transmitters and receivers new even!

I don't think anyone can say, not even hobby shops that have insider knowledge. HPI might be going through a phase right now after being bought out. I talked to my local hobby shop and he said there isn't a drying up of parts for the savage line, but I disagree. Ideally, they should arrive later this year, Q3 maybe Q4. With that will replenish the parts support.

I have a Nero on order but i had a try today on a friend's Losi XXL2E. That thing is absolutely brutal even on 4s. I don't know if the Nero can match it.

Who was it who bought out HPI? I can't seem to find this info and the LHS guys weren't sure either.

Hmmm that's interesting, an R & D facility in the US too. Maybe they will become Traxxas version 2.0. They can definitely take some notes on parts support from Traxxas anyways. If not for the Savage line, HPI would have went under long ago I think.

Figured I'd post up here..

have a savage flux with FLM XL tvp's. Ran it for 10 minutes on 6S tekin 2250 and the ESC burned down. Picked up a 1550kv motor (toro) and a mamba monster x, and ran it another 20 minutes

Not sure I love it. Handling is sloppy, steering sucks (400oz servo, hd spring), yes it looks kinda cool but I've been toying around selling it and going truggy. I have a 1/8 buggy so I'm a bit spoiled, but curious who else feels like truggy might be a better option

Yes I've googled and read hundreds of threads, yet I am still here asking

Thats the deal with monster trucks. Get yourself a truggy too. No harm in having both.

On the other hand, that is what I like with monster trucks, sometimes they do something you did not tell it to do, and you can/need to adjust that with the steering.
It is a bit of a nice challenge imo.
