R2 hobbies is great - order from them a few times with no issues. The cheap shipping really does take 2-4 weeks, so I usually upgrade to the UPS option, which takes ~1 week. I'm on the westcoast, so you can probalby add 1-2 days on top of that. The tires are an awesome value, be sure to get a few sets when you order.




Are springs interchangeable between brands? I've got Xray t2 009 shocks and trying to find an inexpensive set of soft/med springs for drifting (I really don't think the car needs the $10 Xray sets)

Not sure if i dare to post here ..normally im a offroadrace, but i got the Carisma M40S - Audi Quattro, for now the car have stock gravel tires, but after a pack on tarmac they are out ..it is hard, actually never been doing some "Drift/sliding" and so..but i think indoor, on carpet with descent drift tire it can be fun ? this is a whole new thing for me..

negligible difference between 8.5 & 10.5 in a drift car
- if u got 1 use it, if u don't not worth buying 1 just to change

my drifters run 3.5/4.5/5.5/6.5/8.5 Novak & 9T EZRUN

sweetspot for my preference is 6.5-8.5 in "light" variants

Im going to be honest... I have better luck with something along the lines of a 9.5R-12.5R. the power is much more smooth, geared right it is much quicker and handles much better. Motors lower than 6.5t ate too torquey. there is no need for that much speed on something that is made to not grip. Whats your goal trying to make ABS/t-drifts slip MORE?

Besides, a 5000mah battery will last nearly an hour(geared properly).

if your economy is that good, you're not slidin' hard enough

"CS" cars seem to suck a lot more juice though

depending on track & surface, just turn down your throttle EPA & exponential
and it'll take the edge off any excess power... mine can be down to
45-75% EPA and often -25% on exp



for some strange reason, the stock TA06 handles really nice as a 50:50 chassis...

So are folks still recomending the tt-01 as a entry level rig?

I really want to get into it but dont want to dump 250 or so on just a kit before any electronics.

Get a Touring car instead if you cant afford a Higher end Drift car.

Some cheap ones that are better quality than the TT-01
Ofna TC Both drift and TC are about $100 USD new
Schumacher Mi1 is about $100-150 USD new
If you bored of drifting take it to the track and race (Set up required)

HPI Cyclone is RTR fairly cheap considering it has Brushless system in it
(If you graduate from normal chassis to Exotic you can always get the Exotek)

And blah blah blah there are plenty of choices xD
