Different *and overlapping* ways, unfortunately. There apparently isn't any clear-cut distinction between what each setting can do.

Anyway, /threadjack.

There are some clear distinctions, but they're just not as simple as "gives more steering on entry". There's plenty of literature out there if you want to learn more about car tuning.

The important part though is, if you took your car and only changed the caster the above would be the result.

There are lots of books that can go into the details, and obviously there are other ways in which you can change the corner entry etc.

Questions?? ta07 tcs legal?

Looking in the TCS rules, the TA07 is not listed in the GT3 or GT2 classes as legal, is this just an oversight since the chassis is so new or is it just not legal for use yet?

Default What size body will the TA07 take?

I was wondering what size body this car will take. Also what's a good set of mounted tires to get for parking lot racing?

I'm sure it's just an oversight. The chassis was designed specifically for competition, and Tamiya knows the rules as well as any of the big touring-car manufacturers. They wouldn't want to lose sales as a result of their new chassis being disqualified.

Fair enough. Since I don't have a track to drive on, understanding the minutiae of competition-grade alignment tuning wouldn't do me much good. The surfaces I drive on aren't consistent enough for super-precise alignment tuning to make a noticeable difference -- the effects of small adjustments get lost in the "background noise" of driving over bits of sand, pebbles, cracks, and dead leaves.

Thanks! I thought minimum weight was 1380?

Isn't that weight over a hundred grams below the minimum weight for racing?

Managed to TQ and throw away a win in the GT10 class during the latest FredTech race with a TA07 against a gaggle of carbon fiber cars. It was good to run it against capable competition in order to find out where improvements can be made.

I counted at least 3 TA-07's in the A main. Rod's, mine, and Mark's.

I pick up my TA07 tomorrow and will be racing it box stock initially on medium/high bite old CRC Ozite indoors on a tight technical layout in the USGT class. I'm assuming the stock springs are going to be too soft but I'm confused as to which springs fit these shocks? The manual list the XV-01 springs as options but they don't look that great to me.

Any of the Tamiya touring car springs will fir fine. If you use the big bore springs, you will need 42192 also. The XV01 springs are pretty soft.
