no not really tamiya never shows an entire gear chart ......so unless you own one who knows what will fit you cant figure what mods will work by looking at a manual

I've gotten a TB-03 down to 3.2 (72/55) and I know I can get as big as a 59 in there.

Got mine as well! I measured the inside of the T5/T7 parts, and as long your pinion is smaller than 18.3 mm diameter it will fit between the motor mounting screws.

Eagerly awaiting to hear if the TB04 gear diff will fit in the TB03! Someone has to have both cars and be able to test this out for me!

Both the TB04 and TB03 use the same "A" parts tree, 51351, which includes the gearboxes. This means TB04 gear diffs and TB03 ball diffs should be interchangeable. I haven't built my TB04 gear diff yet and tried it in a TB03, but in theory since the parts trees are the same it should fit with zero problems. I do think you'll want to match the pinion and ring gears, not mix a TB03 pinion with a TB04 ring, since they come as a set in 51547.

What I like about the gear diff is its now ball bearing supported at the outdrives and the big bevel gear is separately mounted by additional 4 screws.

I wonder if the transponder area underneath will affect the airflow since it will catch some air. Would be better if Tamiya included a cover for it. My brother thinks it could be used for hiding the RX or array of capacitors. Also the suspension block no longer includes the option to use 2.5degree toe in at the rear. I think it's just for 3degree set up. Also included it the Moly grease for the suspension balls, cvds and dogbones.

Still be sourcing additional hop ups before I start the build.

For hop ups I'm thinking about the front one way as well as the steel diff gears and metal cross shafts... Other than that, the car should be pretty good out of the box.

Sure, if several people want to see it go together I'll start posting pictures of the build step-by-step. This build might span a week as I can only afford an hour or two per night to work on it...
