Using the tb03 main gears gives you a smoother drive train and also gets you fdr to 2.24.

He's right sorry about that, my tb04 has a 2.44 fdr with the tb03 gears.
At tamiya my fast lap times are 14.6 that's on par with 418.

Anyone experienced abit of excessive tightness for the steering rack? Mine is having issues centering back to neutral, be it with servo saver or direct servo horn. Have loosen the top deck stiffener, and same issue too.

Disconnect the servo and check for binding. If the steering rack is binding. Go thu it and find the problem. You may have built it wrong. If its not binding, it's your servo or servo saver

If anything you should have slop in your steering that needs to be shimmed out!

I am pretty sure I know the answer but just in case...

I am currently running the TB03 ring gear and Evo4 drive gear in the gearbox of my TB04. My car was noticable quieter and of course it makes spur and pinion optons easier for 17.5 motors. Now the question: Is it TCS legal to run the Evo4 small gear in the TB04 gearbox? I suspect the answer is no since the face of the Evo4 gear needs to be shaved down a bit to get the e-clip on but I am still hoping...

I'd be pretty surprised if they even check it. Fred's the only one who can answer that question.

I purchased the 51255 TB Evo 5 Ring and pinion gears but have not installed it. Does the ring gear need modding or shimming to fit?

Have tried 2 different servo. Same issue. Removed servo and try by hand. Seems that it would be tight only near full lock. Have loosen the top stiffener abit, and seems to be still tight. If remove the top stiffener, then is ok. Now servos are on direct horn, no servo saver.

Both steering block is ok. Can have full movement though

Wait now I'm confused. Do the Evo 4 or Evo 5 gears fit? Or both?

They all can be made to fit. The only gear that won't fit is the small bevel gear from the Evo3

Check:
Wheels rubbing on a-arm.
Steering rods hitting rear sus block.
