got some parts in the mail yesterday!!
got to build some more of the car tonite.
any thoughts on next parts?




also, what is the best way to cut out the carbon?
it appears that the top deck is going to hit the lipo wire so much that it will probably rub thru the wire?

macsac, I would swap out the front driveshafts for universal shafts when you get chance to, taking out the dogbones will make the drivetrain a little smoother

Then, when you can get the rears swapped out too, but they are not as important. I used dogbones in the rear of my '05 for two solid seasons of racing, although the outdrive cups were rather worn where the pins slide in.

They still worked ok, just had more play in them until the dogbone turned the outdrive...

Wow that looks very, erm, blingy. Pity the 3 racing chassis handles like a shopping cart IMO. I did the whole hop up a TA05 carbon fibre etc, my bog stock IFS-R now is 2 seconds a lap FASTER

Probably no comparison but the standard '05 swapped out with a 3racing V1 chassis, trf shocks, front swingshafts and a spool was quick for me once it was dialled in...

I could have put it on a diet to make it a little quicker (it weighed in at 1560gr ) but I didnt have the time or money to.

If you bolt on the V2Lipo friendly chassis and use lipo, you will be well under 1500gr before any titanium/lightweight extras...

where is your ESC going to be installed?
in front or behind of the motor?

i ask because if you are putting it behind then why not just turn the lipo around?
it looks like the top deck at the rear may not foul the battery leads if orientated that way...

the lipo picture is deceiving... the upperdeck actually cuts across the battery harder on the other side
and there is not as much of that deck to cut away

cut the carbon in water (carbon dust=respiratory FAIL) with a decent dremel bit (not too decent though, as it might become a very smooth polishing bit... it would really need to be diamond but that's a little expensive)

I am aiming for a FDR of just over 5.0, which would be a better combination (48p) or no difference?

Titanium Racing pinions look interesting, anyone tried them before? Will probably go with a Kawada for the spur. Appreciate any inputs.

I have heard of quality issues too with their pinions (noisy meshing)...

Maybe others have had better service and a better made product, all i'm saying is do some homework before you buy and i'm sure you will get the answer you are looking for.

I read that post, I thought it was a wrong product and refund issues, not quality issues?

I'll be buying from a store, so no issues about wrong items and refunds. But if there are quality issues, then I'd better avoid it. I'll go with Kawada spurs and pinions then. thanks again!

yes, more of a post issue than quality, but still a no dice situation

I have seen the pinion gears generate the noise, and then use a different pinion to see the noise go away, but you pays your money, you takes your pick.
