Sorry, looks like you will need to find a buyer for all those belts...
I guess the only way they could keep the same belts is increase the spur size to make up for the motor shift, but I'm not sure if it'll be the case..

Default TA05 Conversions

Is the Kawada conversion new? I thought they already had a double deck TA05 conversion kit:

http://www.redrc.net/2007/05/kawada-...-tamiya-ta-05/

From my count, that makes 4 companies that now have TA05 conversions on the market:

* 3Racing
* Kawada
* Penguin
* Tech Racing

Any others?

C'mon TRF !!! What's taking so long ? I wonder if the TA05MS will carry the TRF badge when it's finally released?

Setup sheet here - http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/trf_page.php - not sure if it covers the many, many possible TA05 parts though.

Im thinking of getting a TA05R and was wondering how big of a pinion you can use. I plan on using the Novak 13.5ss motor and they like a bigger gear. Will there be enough room?

Has anyone tried these ceramic bearings from speedtechrc? If so, are they for the reversible lightweight suspension or for the stock one?

Myself and Core Creations both run the TA05 around here with the 13.5pro.

This is what we are running for gearing.

90t 64p spur/41t 64p pinion= 4.94 final

Thats with rubber tires. Thats leaving us with plenty of speed but motor temps in the 125~130 range while racing in 85+ heat outside, and motor temps in the 115~120 range while racing rubber tire indoors on carpet.

With this setup, you have plenty of room to move the motor back and definitely go bigger on the pinion(the motor is almost pushed all the way forward with this gearing). But since you'll already be at 4.9 on the final, I'm not sure how much bigger you'd want to go.

He assembles the kits himself, so I'm 100% sure he can do a kit for you however you want.

Looks like im gonna be ordering a TA-05R in the next couple of weeks. Gonna be running stock rubber on low to med ozite.
Anyone have a set up sheet close to this or a list of something that would get me close.
Also, the store Im gonna be ordering this from is the racetrack I race (want to support my lhs)they dont really stock Tamiya parts, what are the "must have" parts I should order in case something breaks. I would like to order these along with my kit.

Just the basics.

Arms...
C-Hubs...
Knuckles...

Thats about it for 'must have' breakage items. Not many things break on the car, especially at stock motor speeds.

Metal suspenison mounting parts. That's all that I've ever broken on my stock 05. Then I upgraded the front and rear and 3racing chassis and to this date no broken anything........yet. And I'm a bad driver. I try to take out the wall for getting in my way.

I'm running the Tamiya carbon tub chassis on my 05 at the moment, wondering if there is a weight reduction if you use one of the 3Racing/Penguin/Xenon carbon chassis instead?

Thanks Darkseid, what brushless esc are you using? I have a sphere comp and looks like it might be a tight fit behind the motor. Will it fit?? I also have a mamba max but that is even bigger.
