I use it in my old xl. It works pretty well but I sometimes question if it always centers perfectly. But for the money it's acceptable.

Well....

Have started the build of my xti and was wondering about that front end. Why make a rear pod so smart with the height adjustment and the remake the front end so incredibly unconvenient? First of all we all need to get new servos. And then the issues when to set the ride height.
And for the third. A battery holder for non crc packs would be awesome, i run reedy packs and need to modify the holder (inline) so my bateries wont move.

Breath in.....breath out....puuuuuh....

You don't have to buy new servos. The Airtronics is not a have to have piece. I am still using the same JR servos I used for the last few years.

The front end is actually quite simple to set up. Just buy the #4260 shims and you are done. The more you use it, the easier it gets.

Since most people use our batteries, the car is designed to fit them. We also left spots to use tape for those who choose to not use our batteries.

to answer the body questions.....
switching from xi to the xti will not require a new body. body post locations are the same. when i built mine, i moved the roll over antenna all the way forward in the upper deck, leaving room for future changes to the length of the shock if desired. if you mount the rollover antenna in the second hole from the back of the upper deck, or just in front of the stock shock mounting position, you will not need to change the antenna hole in your body either.

recommended body for body for stock black art R8c, for mod Black Art Black Market. for classes in between, i have a mix of both. but i have also seen the black market run in stock and the R8C run in mod. the R8c should have less total down force than the Black Market. there you go. clear as mud.
