I've done it too. Parking lot race in the dead of summer in Riverside with temps of 150F we were trying Sorex36's and couldn't get them too hook up at all, tossed on a set of 27's just out of curiosity and they were strapped.

Given that, how would you categorize the asphalt outdoor track at Toys For Boys in Georgia? For fun, pretend the Spool Monster has eaten all of your spools (hey, it could happen!). Would you use a one-way there or a diff? How does the amount of traction play into things? Thanks.

Funny you mention that. I was down at TFB and the spool monster ate my spool just before race time. I was running 19turn and switched to a one-way just before race time. I had a ripping car before the spool monster, and with a one-way it just wouldn't work right in tight turns. IDK if it was the slickness of the asphalt or what, but I know a spool would have shaved off atleast a half second on each lap. I would suggest a tight/locked diff. That track has a poorly placed back corner. The wood sticks out to grab those front tires. So if you can help it, carry an extra spool b/c a tight diff will break if you catch that back wall.

Yes this part i understand my question is more or less about listing 5 different ranges for the traction compound but you only talk about 3 differtn ones when asked here is basicly how i understand but i am trying to make sure i am correct. please let me know if i am or not

Paragon GFX cold to cool weather and at night 0-120 as 120 is still cool on your list.
Paragon FXII or Niftech for cool to warm weather 120-135
50/50 mix of FXII and Tire Tweak when its hot. 135-150
Straight Tire Tweak when it Blazing hot 150+

Paragon GFX cold to cool weather and at night 0-120 as 120 is still cool on your list.
Paragon FXII or Niftech for cool to warm weather 120-135
50/50 mix of FXII and Tire Tweak when its hot. 135-150
Straight Tire Tweak when it Blazing hot 150+
Dude I am telling in What Florida temps mean to us we actually only get those three. Its either cold or hot.

Dude if less then 80 is cold (Paragon GFX cold to cool weather and at night)!!
upto 120 is cool to warm (Paragon or niftech)
above 120 to 135 50/50 .
above 150 straight tweak.

Look if you use common sense you'd figure whats in between! Sorry man I am not trying to be a jerk but the answer is there. I didnt think I needed to break it down by degrees precisely.
Plus You only need to worry about cold and cooler on our scale. In your neck of the wood anything over 125 is probly never!!!
Also Adrian listed 4 not five. The funny thing is you had it figured out on your post. Florida is funny with weather the further south the closer to the equater yet close enough to the north to get wierd weather. We dont get four seasons here. Its summer and fall without changing of the leaves. It cools down a little to low 50's and maybe 5 to 6 days of high 40's and thats in the mornings or evening because when the sun comes out its a low 70's day. with track temps around 80 ( cold for Florida)!
Hope this helps! THis has been your meterolegist SpeedxL !

Hi Guys,
I think this is a wonderful thread.Learn lots of stuff from here.

Think you guys are talking about blazing hot.I don't know how hot is blazing be.

But I come from Singapore and is really really blazing hot here. All the tires that you guys suggested eg Sorex 36 are for night racing and we use Sorex 40 for the day.I don't know how to convert F to C.But Temps can get as high as 36C here around the equator.

36c is equal to 96.8f degree's

Formula for converting! a °C = (4/5)a °Réaumur = [32 + (9/5)a] °F.

Lucky for us there is conversion tables all over the net!

Heck 96.8 is cool weather here in the desert....Singapore is just to blasted humid....You take a shower and you get out you feel like you need another shower just to wash off the sweat you just accumulated...
But as for Blazin He is refering to tracks that the track itslf is hotter than 150* if ever this happens, pack up go home...Your sweating more than racing..LOL
But yes in Souther California I have seen track temps of 155* but that was a real scorcher for like 6 days strait of 105*+ it was stupid hot.....
Stephen <><
If you aint using tweak (tire type) you ain't winning...LOL
