I took the GTP2 out for a speed run today, it was a little side windy and it flipped about 15 times lol! Broke a front body post. It was a violent crash, only going about 35mph when I started to punch it and it went up into a wheel stand and then got evil lol! Top speed for the day was only 62mph and 58mph. I think that's fast enough for me. That 2650 on 5s with 20t has ridiculous acceleration! I think I like the 2200 better for just playing around. The hpi motors do require removing 3 rows of heatsink or raising the diff/motor mount. The fins twist right off with pliers.

Heh, i think i will be ok with 20t on 4s and a 2650kv then.

I was still debating what final gearing i should go with. How were your temps on that?

I only ran about 10min total, motor was 109 esc was 112. You might want to run 18t for just thrashing around. On 5s it was wicked. I'm going back to the 2200kv on 6s this time lol! The 2200 has more torque and is better for just drifting and playing around. More mid/bottom power. The 2650 is a good motor, very fast/quick. The next speed run I do I will lower the droop screws and body as low as it can go and stiffen the rear to eliminate the squat under wot! I really don't have enough time on the car yet to be going over 60mph lol! That first crash scared me!

I'm running a 5s 45c battery hyperion 4200, with 20t it went 62+mph. If you have a good battery then go 20t if not run 18t to start out on 4s! Check the temp after 5 min. Until your sure you have reached max operating temp and gear from there. I just picked up a reedy 6s 3100 40c+, I'm going back to the 2200 on the 6s. On 4s with a 20t you should still get 50mph+

Right now i have a stretched wheelbase Protoform PF8-GT

Also have a Kyosho GT2 Corvette C6 that's being painted right now. It fits much better with its natural longer wheelbase.

No pics yet on that one.

Also have a SC8 race truck shell waiting for paint too. Just for something different Although it will not work with the ofna front bumper mounted on there.

** i lied, just testfitted the truck body and it works better than the Pf8gt haha

I like the sc8 body, I have a sc8be I built, the truck takes a beating! My buddy is converting his sc8e to onroad since I got the gtp2e! My buddy made a eslayer and it went pretty good off road so I assume yours should go good onroad!

Looks like the stock revo bumper might clear. Or custom cut the ofna bumper and foam with a dremal or bandsaw! I really like the pf8 paint job! Looks tight! It's funny, I used those little vent stickers for door handles! I couldn't figure out where they went!
