Besides softening the rear & stiffening the front, are there any usual, obvious setup checks to alleviate torque steer?

Any recommendations/ideas would be appreciated.

Fits perfectly. You need both sides, obviously. And, I didn't bother with the bolt-on cross piece. Just the motor mount and the opposite side upright.

your chassis sounds tweaked, binding in the suspension or stuck bearing... any thing can cause that. But a belt car typically won't torque steer...

I guess I didn't describe the problem properly.....the car oversteers at corner exit (wants to fishtail as if it was a torque steer problem).

The tweak is fine, the bearings are fine, and no binding..

How fresh is the rear gear diff?

Not very fresh, built it over a year ago, used it in 17.5 blinky, still very free. Now using it in mod...used 1000Cst oil.

Are you saying that a tired gear diff would produce the oversteer condition?

take your shocks off and recheck everything. make sure shock shaft is not bent. The gear diff should not be too notchy or too free that the teeth skips. If all mechanical issues are ok, you can give a little more front droop to give it a little more rear traction. Also test on new tires. Old worn tires can lose grip suddenly sometimes.

just installed the double cvd's (tamiya) and WOW feels great, cant wait to give it a run next week.

How often should they be pulled out and stripped, cleaned etc? trying to maximise lifespan of them

If it feels good it probably is, make sure nothing is binding and then work on your setup. More front droop, rear shocks stood up more and less rear camber are the first things I'd try. Split rear blocks also help if you aren't already running them.

Don't take them apart, just spray them with contact cleaner and blow them with a compressor then regrease

Running on a Low grip track? First check your tires.
Then try some softer oil in the geardiff. 800 or 650.
I had the same, got from 1000 to 650, then to 1500. 650 worked best for me 1500 made it worse.
