I would guess that you're severely under geared. However, not having raced stock in years, I'm not 100% sure what the current motors are geared at. But I know with most 19 turn motors, we're in the low to mid 6's and you're at 7.46. Under gearing a motor can be just as, if not harder on it than over gearing.

One thing Nexus kinda gave me an idea it is UNDER....the car is very flat after 1/4 of throttle, already MAX out with like 30%-40% of throttle, that might cause the overheat....or the motor is so under that it rev like crazy..

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.........I love this EC.
Try a 32 tooth pinion - won't be far off unless it's a tiny track.

Thanks Kevin, I hope I don't have to wait untill the MWAS race and have you to figure that out for me.............yes, I was using your suggested gear ratio and I am sure it is something else.....like I mentioned before, it might be my motor, but that motor, I think when it was new, I ran like no more then 2 5 minutes run and thats all....of course, what the heck I know about electric motor, I can do any kind of centax clutch and nitro engine, electric motor, not 1 single clue..

Thanks Jon and Heavy......I think I am heading to the right direction, I just need to go to the "real" track and test the running........I am more toward "UNDER" because my car launch like a rocket but top out very quick (from the stock motor standpoint)........Heavy, the track I am running is very tight - because that was my basement for some quick test running. (sorry to confuse everyone).

I've also ran my foam car w/monster stock in the basement....for about 3 packs of batteries, motor temp are about normal....

Ok wait until you get to the real track to figure out gearing.... When you are at His and Hers on saturday(if you are going) the 28/116 would be ok...thats what I ran there with stock....if anything I would drop a tooth.

Thanks KK...too bad you won't be there this weekend....and I will keep the 28/116 for now. I am not sure running electric motor 200 degrees indoor over carpet will do any harm for anyone, I ran my nitro engine as high as 300 degrees.........I think they are the same

There's really nothing you need to do to the car. Just make sure it's tweaked straight and the setup is proper (just like any car) and you'll be very happy with it.

Make sure you only use 1 diff shim per diff and the suspension mounts are mounted properly (hinge-pin in the high position).

the car is awesome on all surfaces out of the box. i would advise you get some heavier front axles/cvds and a p-dub bumper to keep durability high, but the car is hella fast out of the box.
