I think how u are run in the is motor ok. but to me is too long
from my personnal exp which no think of is u are OVERGEARING or UNDERGEARING your motor cause u say that the comm looked bad after running 1 pack.

For the timing use back the stock timing when the motor come in and for the brushes spring use a bit harder that stock will be good enough.

I run all my motors in with a 4 cell pack(4-5 mins), doing it with 0 deg advance certainly makes life a bit easier for them too.
