What is really cool is Xray puts out all of the hop-ups. I recommend getting the spring steel front outdrives. The aluminum ones in the kit are soft and tend to spread out preventing the removal of the outdrive. Others that are good to get are front and rear sway bars, roll center bridge, new 1.77 ratio pulleys, thin rear belt, and one way. Oh and don't forget to get the spring sets. Let us know how you do!

Smile Observation......

I ran my T1r for the first time today and must say I am very pleased. This car is so nice and consistant from lap to lap its not funny. All I can say is for the first time running it outdoors today was a real pleasure. With the 1.77 ratio pullies,it was as if there was no advantage for SHAFT cars....and believe me, I owned all of them. The car turns in so well and carries ridiculous corner speed I was in shock.Easy to drive, well for some that drove it they didnt think so.But for me,its a perfect fit.I turned more then a few Tamiya owners heads. You should have heard the race announcer mocking me because I was driving the "Ugly budget Xray car."Noone was mocking me after the A main. Thanks again guys for the setup help.Used the setup posted here for asphalt....Puchos setup......Dialed.

Hey guys, in your opinion, what are the best pinions on the market? I was thinking about buying a complete set of XRay pinions, however XRay makes two types, Steel and Aluminum Hard Coated. Which one is better? The Aluminum Hard Coated pinions sound better as far as the description goes, but the steel ones are more expensive.

What do you guys think? I would really like to know what people who have used both types think.

Thanks
