No hard updates yet at far as I know... there has been talk but I'm not 100% on the status of what is going on.

We have already built some 25.5 motors and wound stators. I will check and see when we can get them on line.

Interesting, I too thought it was slower. Perhaps we need to experiment further.

Still I must congratulate Novak for bringing this motor to the marketplace it sets a new standard in quality, tunability, tolerance of heat etc.. although they already were the standard setter!

I noticed it was a little crisper to turn over, perhaps it has more torque and should be geared taller..

I have the Ballistic 13.5 and it is certainly fast and has good torque. I have noticed that the Duos at our track need to gear quite a bit lower than this motor with their LRP ESCs. When I first ran the car, I had it geared at 5.77 but the car was lacking just a bit of top speed so I geared it up a bit to 5.5 and the motor is fast. The fastest Duo that races here in San Diego and my Ballistic motor are even but his is running a lot hotter. I can probably go up even one more tooth as my temps ranged from 132 to about 150. I run my Ballistic without advancing the timing on the motor itself. I run the KO BMC ESC.

Contemplating between getting a Novak Ballistic or Epic Duo2. Since both are as good, the Ballistic scores higher marks on the Tunability/Maintenance/Repair.

Someone did tell me they felt the older motor are ever so slightly quicker.

Can someone tell which shop (online) has them in stock & the wound stator as well? (other than shopatron) and its willing to ship overseas (UK).

At this time, we are only offering the Ballistic wound stators manufacturer direct. We are considering making all, or a select group, of the stators available thru distribution. We have had inquiries from re-sellers and are working on a program.

I am not familiar with the old motor but I really like my Ballistic. The fastest Duo2 that I have raced against was equal in speed to my Ballistic but his temps were higher whereas I could have geared up.

yes, but you should run the motor with the center ring, general rule of thumb clip on heat sinks work better/ more efficient on a smooth surface such as a Duo motor as compared to a ribbed surface like on the novak motors

With the larger optional rotor, would it make the motor more 'balance'. Hence giving it torque as I've heard the Novak Ballistic is more of an RPM motor. Making it having the best of both worlds. True? Comments?
