Can the sxx tc be used with a 17.5? I had found a great deal on one but I think the sxx tc is mainly for mod. We don't run mod around here so if it can't be used with good results with a 17.5 it's useless to me!

Well if I was buying it, i'd just wait. But this would be coming in a trade. It's either a almost new lrp sxx tc or a novak gtb. I just really don't care for the gtb though! What profile would be best when using a 17.5? From what i've read it appears to be 10. Would I need to adjust the timing?

It will work perfectly fine. You'll want to use profile 10 for the power profile. Compared to others speedos with rampup timing speedos(spx, tekin etc) you'll have to gear higher because of the lack of extra timing. I have tried both ways in 13.5 and there is really no difference in laptimes as long as you get the gearing correct with both on a duo.

With the new X12 spec motors you'll be perfectly fine with the SXX as the motors are so fast the ramp up timing speedos are not needed. In 13.5 and 10.5 we have found that profile 10 on the SXX and profile 6 on the SPX are as high as you will want to go, any higher and you need to fully retard the timing on the motor and gear down at least 10 teeth. Even then it is still too timing on the speedo.

i just started running 1/12th scale cars. i have a sphere non tc. of course i got smoked by all the guys with the spx. i keep hearing about the sxx stock spec. i run a 17.5 single cell, would the sxx stock spec be the esc of choice for me or should i go with a tekin rs with the turbo ? i dont want to waist money and get an esc that wont give me a chance to win. i cant seem to find much info about the sxx stock spec.

The difference between SXX and the Sphere TC Specs are very noticable. We used to run an FDR as low as 4.6:1 with the Sphere TCs on max punch (8), and the SXX TC on an FDR of around 5.3-5.8:1 on punch 7-10 is clearly quicker. Brakes are a lot better too, more consistent and stronger. This settings are for a medium sized track with a 25-30m straight.

We all use similar settings regardless of what lipo we are using. From IP3800s to IP5000s.... all the same.

What's a good profile for the SXX TC with a 13.5? Am I at a real disadvantage with this esc in 13.5?

Yes.......You can get more speed with an ESC with stock programs like the LRP SPX or the GM Genius 90 or 120. (LRP will issue the new SXX StockSpec in January which is supposed to be better than the SPX. GM is also issuing new ESC soon)

man says hold set button 3 seconds and blue lite will flash to start set up for neut throt and brake, but my blue lite just stays on and it wont set up , all the other mode lites seem to work ,but not the set up, every thing is new, hacker 17.5 motor battery lipo all new any ideas

Hi everyone,

I want to ask if anyone had problems with their speedo when using Spektrum system on Futaba 3pk series. This year two national class racers were using the SXX TC and, one of them burnt it after running for 1 pack, and bringing it to the pit table. It was so confusing.

The other racer burnt it immediately after switching the receiver on for the first time, on the pit table. Afterwards he installed his spare SXX, and used original Futaba FM module/receiver, and used it without any problems.

Could someone please enlighten me, because I want to buy one.

Guys, what is the process for checking the temp check?

Mine says to press mode for a few seconds, but this doesn't seem to work, am I mean't to hold brakes as I turn it off beforehand or something?
