looks nice. Can you tell us where you bought it? I thought China will not let this model out of main land. Are all parts interchangeable with 416? Can it fit lipo that has height higher than 24mm? Thanks

Tamiya has a problem on their hands now. Perhaps they become more involved in some of their markets they have neglected or else.

Why did you say you need to replace those items above with OEM?
Some of the chinese made parts need to be replaced with genuine OEM tamiya parts.

*The diff screw china provides is 2x27.3mm, the correct part is 2x22mm.
*The 5x.5mm shim inside the ball diff for the ball bearings is missing. If you
neglect to use this shim, the diff washers will put excessive amounts of
pressure on the diff balls, the shim spaces it out to relieve pressure.
*The included spur gear is NOT true and should be replaced w/ your facorite brand.
*The kit comes preassembled and not done well, i reccomend complete dissasembly and reassembly using calipers and your experience
*I reccomend replacing the aluminum front universals w/ steel because
aluminum bends too easily
*I reccomend replacing the included kit springs w/ somethign you know & trust, for example Corally or HPI
* I reccomend changing the shock oil w/ something you know & trust, for example, AE or Losi oils
*I reccomend removing the oversized O-rings inside the shock preload collars to make turning/twisting the collars an easier task during setup changes
(you can run the collar with NO o ring or use genuine tamiya O ring)
* I reccomend removing the .5mm shims from the inner hingepins to remove any binding from the arms during free drop (no shocks)
*I reccomend filing part of the top deck to grant easier access to the top motor mounting screw
* I reccomend a hard urethane bumper (Parma universal cut to fit or Cyclone bumper fits)
* You need to dissasemble the ball diff and apply grease where neccesary
* You need to print the instruction assembly manual from TamiyaUSA

Thumbs up

This kit overall is very good, i like the fit & finish of the parts and is an excellent value regardless of some parts!

I would reccomend this kit to anyone looking for a 416 but cant afford the real deal or someone who is looking to get into the hobby and stay competitive on budget!

i'm sorry but i would not buy that car if it was the last RC car in the world

i think it is a rip off and the sooner tamiya shut them down the better

the car has nothing on my new TRF416we That i have just payed €500 for and think that if it was half as good then tamiya would be more worried about it !!!!

lets see what they drive like in 6 months

If you know the guys making these cars you should tell them to copy more cars, I would like to own a replica BD5, EVO V MS, Cyclone, etc!

Why don't people just buy this car then upgrade every single part with a real 416 part....wait that would cost way more then just to buy the real deal lol

Your right that wouldn't be cost effective and silly because not all the parts need to be "upgraded".

So what parts are weak on the car?

Reading thru the thread people said some parts are weak, brittle, and "sloppy"...

Maybe people who have this car could replace all the defected clone parts and put the OEM 416 parts...

B18, you're responding to a troll. Remember, rctech has an ignore feature, and my ignore list includes that guy.

Nice report on it, very valuable.
