I was asked about droop measurement on the BD5. As some may know, the Yokomo Factory Team measures droop a little differently than most. So if you see a setup sheet and see 9.5mm or 8.5mm droop... what does that mean? Here is my understanding of this measurement. Measure droop from the center of the outer hinge pin as seen in the pic below. This one is 8.5mm droop.
You can also try this way as long as the arms are level (no kickup or squat, etc.)
And of course, here is the traditional way, but it does not give you the Yokomo way. I think you could say 5mm droop is equal to 8.5mm Yokomo droop. Or close to it.

if you measure the thickness of the wishbone, where the hingepin is, you will find it to be 7mm
which is 3.5mm when divided by 2
which means
5mm droop on a droop gauge / hudy blocks = 8.5mm hingepin height EXACTLY
I use 9.5f/8.7r 90% of times as it just feels best balanced
for that I set 6.0/5.2 on the fine hudy gauges

Basically, the simple way to convert, is use the tradition method, then add 3.5mm to get the "Yokomo" measurement found on Team setup sheets. So 5mm on the gauge, plus 3.5mm equals 8.5mm. Simple enough.
I remember back when Yokomo tires were the shiznit in the '90s! I wonder how these new tires will hold up against Sorex....?

Yeah, HPI silver rear and gold fronts. I ran those when I ran asphalt mod. I'll start out with them on carpet as well. But I need to pick up some other HPI springs. What, Blues and Pinks? Something like that.

what the effect of using the outer hole of rear Hub ??
I saw ronald was using it at JMRCA.....
i just help my fren build a brand new BD5 which is new stock from Hobby Haven, i saw the shock body is different from mine. It's alittle bit grey.(new shock body? ) The bladder that come with the kits is still transparent but the shape and the hardness are same like the black bladder unlike mine, which is way softer..
