Smile WHEEL AXLE

GUYS,

WHAT DO YOU GUYS PREFER FOR THE KIT
FRONT DRIVE: FRONT ONE WAY, CENTER ONE WAY, OR GEAR DIFF?
REAR DRIVE: CENTER ONE WAY, OR BALL DIFF?

ARE THE TA05 STABILIZER SET NEEDED FOR THE KIT OR ITS JUST ONE OF THE USELESS HOP UPS FOR THE KIT?

HAVE ANYONE TRIED IF THE TB03 AND TRF 415 WHEEL AXLES ARE THE SAME IN SIZE? IF IT IS IT WILL BE NICE BECAUSE THE TRF 415 HAS ITS LIGHTWEIGHT VERSION OF THE WHEEL AXLES.
Tamiya (#54076) TB-03 Wheel Axles
Tamiya (#53939) Lightweight Wheel Axle - For Reversible Suspension

THANKS!

I just set the turnbuckles to whatever length i needed to get it to drive straight then I fine tuned it with my radio. Then I set up the EPA to 76 left and 96 right. But these numbers are all specific to my set up. Your servo placement and turnbuckle length will net you different numbers!

You really shouldn't need to be running such large differences in EPA. EPA should be used as a last resort, not as a default means to set-up your steering.

Try the following;
First off, set you radio to equal steering each side, and remove any curve etc (you can put this back in later)
Set you toe links to equal length, and then mount them on the car. Ignore if you have extreme toe-in or out, you'll reset it later.
Now on you need to position the servo horn such that when the steering is in neutral, the drag link (link between the horn and assembly) is forming a 90deg angle. Given the height of the horn and steering assembly, this will require the horn to be off centre. Now this is not a problem, in fact it's a good thing, as the 90deg angle will ensure equal servo throw side to side.
Then set the drag link to the length needed to get equall amounts of toe either side (rembering the equal toe links from the previous step). When straight, then adjust the toe links equal amounts to the desired toe setting.

This way, you'll get equal steering throw side to side, with the car tracking straight. The only thing you might have to adjust is the sub-trim to get the servo horn in the right place, but take your time, and once you've done it a few times, it's very easy to adjust quickly.

Oh, and I would move that ball joint the otherside of the horn, as that much angle on the link isn't good

HiH
Ed

lightweight axles are for the old chubs and rear hubs that used the 5x9 bearings. the TB-03 uses the new 416 axles that uses 5x10 bearings. Bigger bearings = more durable.

the TA05 sway bar kit will work on this car. what do you mean by "useless"? some people prefer sway bars... some don't. it all depends on your set up and track conditions....

Default Sorry. My english is not that awesome.

Hello everyone,

I got a few question to ask here about TB03. I am planning to buy TB03D soon and before that, I wanted to know if there's any of you guys here had tried using a one way shaft to your TB03?

What I mean is, is there any of you had tried using one way shaft for other models from Tamiya to your TB03 such as Topcad one way shaft for TT01 fitted to TB03?

Thanks.

Hello, Can anyone tell me if the tb-03 will fit after market spur gears, also if you can make it not an IFS just with a few parts????

Also can you make it be about 1425 grams with a 3800 li-po as current rules where i am allows minimum weight of 1425 grams

Thanks

aftermarket spurs will fit... but i think your max is around 90+T 64p
all you'd need is the front shock mount to make it non-IFS
titanium/aluminum screws all around with the lightweight bodysets from proline or tamiya should drop your weight considerably. also the blue lightweight driveshafts.

Yes, I was running 72 spur with 49 pinion. Make sure you check your motor temp.
