I am still trying to figure out who that was even directed to since no one made any comments about batteries really. Other then the break down of who used what at Reedy, beyond that it does not make any sense.

I was surprised you were geared 4.2 ....I would of thought you would be around 3.9-4.0 for that big track....

Does the Losi run much cooler than the Novak Stuff ?
I tried 4.0 and dumped at 4min/30sec lol

Didn't you say it was something to do with your battery though? I had no less than 275 seconds per cell on my ctxd after any given run. I cant imagine that .2 in gear will kill 275 seconds.

Maybe you false peaked?

Hey guys, great to hear a lot of people are happy with the 13.5 and the esc, i'll have mine for the weekend, i'll be running it in the xx4, any tips on the settings, i'll be taking the laptop down to the track so i can adjust the esc on the run.

My only other query is that people say theyre going quick with the motor, i have a feeling that the spec's on losi's website must be wrong then, because its saying the motor revs at 16992 rpm at 7.2v or 2360 rpm/v, where the novak specs are 3300 rpm/v which seems like a massive difference when they both put out similar power, any ideas?

2360 rpm/v sounds more like 17.5 specs, not 13.5.

Yeah thats what i thought, the link ive put there is the instructions for the motors, 13.5 is losb9405 and under that number it has the specs, the figure from the 10.5 of 3080rpm/v looks more like it

The only suggestion I can make is to gear it a bit conservative. The Losi XX4 has a pretty inefficient drive train with its 3 belts, etc. The car handles awesome, but that has always been its week spot.

Alright, I got my speedo and opened the box, I am disappointed. Where are the decal sheets at? I guess I have been to used to the Novak stuff for years giving you that with what ever speedo you got from them. I am headed down to the shop now to install mine in one of my sedans. I did read over the directions and everything seemed pretty straight forward to me. Has anyone really messed with the software or changed settings beyond the stock profiles?

Hey, thanks for the tips, i ran the car at 7.5 FDR, slightly lower than the recommended, just to get an idea, the motor was temping at 110F consistantly, so i'll look at gearing it up, i ran the standard profile with the 13.5, i might put it up to the 8 degrees timing, check the temp again then go up on the gearing, btw the system ran great, im very impressed and happy with my purchase

Not sure what a Losi XX4 is, but you need to gear the 13.5 a little steeper than that. For a TC, gear around 4.3, for a Off-Road 2wd or 4wd, gear around 6.8.

Yeah, thats around where i'll end up gearing the car, 6.8-6.9, but i wanted to take it easy on the motor first run out, im still using the standard settings for timing (6deg), anyone have any advice on where to go with it? is going the extra 2 deg up worth it or any i better off leaving the timing and gearing it taller, obviously i'll test it all out but it'd be good to see what everyone else thinks
