I tried a higher motor timing and the motor gets with more on the motor hotter than with more Boost.
I use now on long tracks a motor timing of max 12 with a boost of 15 tot 20.
On smaller tracks I use 8 to lower motor timing and a Boost of 20.

The lower motor timing gives you more power in the infield.
On longer tracks gives the motor timing more top speed.

With a lower timing in total you also get more power for the infield.
You lose a bit top speed.

Default POwer caps for RS pro

Hi,

Was wondering, for a second cap, do I just solder it in parallel with the original one that was supplied with the esc?

Planning to get the TT3522 from rcmart...

Or could any one suggest other alternatives which is suitable?

Many Thks!

While in theory timing is indeed timing, the new technology afords us something very clever.

The motor timing is fixed once you set it on the endbell therefore applied at all times, whilst the speedy timing is dependent on parameters such as revs, temperature and current (which is a measure of load) so, if the speedy thinks you can not use any extra timing is not going to give it to you (in theory at least; I don't know the software code, but that's what you would want to achieve with it anyway). It is like haing a VVTI engine in a real car. The best of two worlds. High torque at low revs and high revs (for power) at the top end. Basically it gives you the driveability of a normal engine at low speeds and the top end of a racer. Likewise here with the timing boost you get from the speedy. We all hope Tekin has done their homework and I tend to think they did.

I believe that guys are rolling out in the 90-94mm range depending on motors used...

I'll have full setups to post as soon as I get home. I'm tracking down as many good setups as I can from this race.

Default Tekin17.5

I have just bought a Tekin17.5 and dont have time to test it before a big meet tomorrow. I see it is set to what looks to me like 16. Is this correct?

Anyway, the track I am running on is quite large, it looks loke its the size of the track from the recent Euros. Massive straight (60-70meters) and long sweeping corners and I figure its all about the rpm. Should I change the Timing to 10?. I use an LRP SPX esc on profile 7or8 most of the time.

Ben,

When i used the Tekin Motor at the SA titles i didnt pay much attention and didnt realise there was timing advanced on the can to and was close to smoking it HAHA.

I assume its for Whalan so try :

Either 8 on the SPX and no timing on the can or try 5-6 on the SPX and 10+ on the can.

Default HELP

Ok guy's heres one for ya. I have my new RS running a sensored 13.5 Fantom (also new). For the first couple of seconds it runs backwards than "BAM" starts going in the right direction. I set it through the Hotwire for brakes and no reverse but it still happens. I have the Novak Booster in it for single cell. I have redone everything twice and the same thing happens. Now I'm not a total nob (but I feel like it right now) but has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks John B

Today we have added a new Tekin driver to the list.
He had a SPX and a Tekin with him today. He tried the SPX first and after that the Tekin RS Pro.
He chooses the Tekin above the LRP. He was 0,5sec a lap faster!!!!

We tried some setups I never tried.
Here are 2 of them

Motor Speedpassion 10,5T with 5 cell.

Timing Boost 0
Turbo Boost Max
Throttle 5
Brake 100% (Because of the weak brakes with the Speedpassion motor)
5,53FDR

Acceleration was great. Just unbelievable.
He was first using a 5,3FDR and he found the top speed to low so he geared lighter to 5,53FDR. The car was like a rocket. Even the top speed was better.

This setup with a lighter gearing will be a fantastic setup for small tracks.
Highest infield power I have ever seen and still a good top speed.

After that he went to the next setup.
This is a better setup at our track.

Timing Boost 10
Turbo Boost Max
Throttle 5
Brake 100% (Because of the weak brakes with the Speedpassion motor)
5,77FDR

A bit lower infield speed and a better top speed.
But still a fantastic infield speed.
He was a bit faster and a lot more faster laps. His average lap time went down a lot.

I used the following setup.
I use a Tekin Redline 10,5 motor on 5 cell.
With a motor timing of 8
Timing Boost 15
Turbo Boost Max
Throttle 5
Brake 70%
5,98FDR

I was as fast as the other driver but a bit better top speed.
We tried it with a LRP X11 10,5T but he couldn't keep up with me.
The Tekin was the fastest motor but the Speedpassion was close today.
The LRP runs better with 18 Boost and a 5,55FDR. Els he came top speed to short against the Tekin Redline motor.

We tried the second setup with a lower FDR of 5,55FDR and that went also great.
Same top speed as the Tekin but a bit lower infield speed.

Lower timing Boost and motor timing gives a lot of infield speed.
And it's a lot. The top speed will be made by the Turbo.
I'm going to try indoor with 0 Boost.

The motor temps were very low. 116.6F
The highest was not higher than 120F
Just incredible and still the lap times were great.
Tons of power. Infield the GM drivers were watching how the Tekin's past them iff they were standing still.

We have now 11 drivers with a Tekin and 2 waiting till there's arrive.
And 2 drivers that want one to.
2 drivers that are waiting were GM drivers.
And than there are some drivers that wait till they now witch classes there will be next year.
Tekin is growing and growing. i was one of the first in the Netherlands and the first at my club.
Helping all the drivers with there setup and always trying to make them faster. Is not smart from me because now I will never win but a Tekin will.
First there were more GM drivers but there are only 3 left.
1 SPX driver and 2 TC drivers. one of them is getting also a Tekin.

Tekin is the nr 1 speedo at my club now.
I promoted it very easy. Just showed them the easy setup and let them feel the power.
One by one wanted a Tekin.
Now SPX and GM drivers also switch to Tekin.
Also on other clubs. The Tekin is hot out here.
First they were thinking that I was lying that the Tekin is so fast till they had seen it going.
After a race in Rucphen people come to me to ask what speedo I drive.
They had never seen a car so fast on the straight and infield.
Now a GM driver there wants one to.

Only thing that is negative. My mailbox is full of questions for setups and were to get the V200. Not that I don't want to help them but because i now that i move back in the field again
I always give them my setups. Positive thing is, is that I have now a long list of setups of almost all the tracks here in the Netherlands with different motors and cars.
Easy for as i go to drive there. only have to put a setup on it that i got back from them.
I mail them a setup were to work from and what to do. they reply with what the car did and than when they need some help i help them or els they send me a setup that worked best at there track.
Also on my home track i don't have time to practice. I help the young guys with there setup and soldering there motors. I drive most of the time when every body is going home.
Than i have some time. (broke my last C Hub today so racing is over for some days now). But I like it. so If you guys want some setups for bigger track let me now. i have some. I drive 10,5 lipo and 10,5 5 cell so most setups are for that. I'm getting a 17,5 and a 13,5 soon because I'm going to use that at my club.
Funniest thing is, is that this winter 3 photons with all 3 a Tekin speedo will race indoor in Belgium this winter.
positive thing is, is that we can help each other with setups of the car and speedo.
