Hey guys not to change the subject here. But the 1s lipos with the deans connector. Where are you guys stuffing the connector on the car? I've been moving around for 2 days and am still not happy with the placement. Thanks

I felt slightly more grip in the rear end with r5 rear end. But when I converted to 5.1 with wide rear pod I got even more grip and it wore out the rear wheels faster. So this brace makes a difference but has its pros and cons

I'll run the car with base set-up, and go from there, thanks for the clarification Bud.

Does anyone have a weight of the R5 and a R5.1, no electronics, tires, batteries, bodies, etc. Just the car itself?

I have my R5 set up for Lipo and one of the other guys has his R5.1 set up for round cells. I'm tipping just over 730g, he's hitting 920g roughly. The much difference is not in the batteries. Some, yes, but not that. He's not using anything to different than me, except receiver. That's why we're looking at weight of the kit itself.

Thanks guys

AE site says 830 grams for the 12R5.1 and I looked at A-Main hobbies for the 12R5 and it says 830 grams too.

Probably need to get a weight of a 12R5 with the brushless options (the options before the 12R5.1 was released) so that would be...

The only weights I really want are the 12R5 and the 5.1. That's the two cars in question.

I saw that the sites said 830, but when my car weighs 730g ready to run, that weight's a little wrong.

Thanks though. Does anyone else know?

it also depends on what kind of wires and length used for your speed control. My LRP Sxx has some thick heavy wires which adds weight but 730 to 920 is a fat difference. I'll weight mine tonite

Guys, what I need is a weight with no electronics, tires, body, etc. Just the rolling kit with no extras, not full running weight.

Why don't you guys strip down your cars and weigh them?? I don't think you're going to find anyone that has an R5 w/o any gear in it.

If it comes to that I will. I'm not asking anyone to strip down their cars. There are enough people coming to 1/12 scale that they might be reading this before they get everything put in.

Thanks for that really "constructive" comment though. Always glad to know there is someone like you willing to "help".

There is almost no difference in weight between the R5 and the R5.1.
I think someone checked and it was around 6 grams.

my "light" 1s lipo pack weighs 125 grams, and a 4 cell Ener-g pack weighs 305 grams....About exactly the difference in your two cars, if he is running 4 cell...

For me under the shock. If you tape the wire down on top of the battery it won't be in the way of the shock. But I'm still not really happy with that. I have an idea for the next car I'm building up this week. I'll post a pic if it works. Kinda using a idea from someone else.
