It's not overly difficult to achieve a 20k Silvercan, but it's just boring work. It can also become expensive cause the motors are inconsistent, although they seem to be better now than they used to be. I used to buy motors in lots of ten and there would be one or two "duds" in every lot. However, since they have an rpm limit in the TCS races now, there's hardly any point in doing much motor work. The "new" batches of the Johnson motors can exceed the rpm limits if you're not careful.

Since we are discussing Silvercans etc...
Does anyone know the RPM difference between a 540 and a Torque Tuned Motor?
Or is there a difference?

Has anyone tried the Shimizu 55mm treaded tires? Any good?
Tech Elite
From just a brief trial, they seem to have much more "grip" than the Sweeps that they were being compared against. In the particular conditions we tested them, they had too much "grip".
More testing needs to be done before I'd recommend or not.

Thank you, this is on asphalt I presume? Which compound also?
Tech Elite
No, it was on carpet. They were hard fronts and soft rears. I can't give any info on which inserts were used. Did a handful of laps with them on asphalt, but decided at that time the inserts in the front tires were wrong. I gave the 55mm Shimizus I owned to another racer so can't check exactly.
My overall impression of these tires is favorable, but since all of my racing in the future will be on 60D tires, saw no need to keep them. Too much work to figure out the right wheels and inserts and find the right set up for these tires.

I picked up a mini. Went to local hobby shop and asked the guy what type of battery works with the mini. He gave me a 3s lipo. Is this too crazy for this car...even if brushless motor
Not sure which hobby shop told you a 3s would work but your looking for 2s round hard case packs.

which inexpensive 2S will work? The GenAce technically fits but the wires are not coming out of the center. any other options?
My TA03 ball diff is 'diffing out'. Newly built diff, maybe 20 runs on it. Still feels smooth.
Really confirmed this on my last run today, didn't make the opportunity to consult the Mini Mafia before leaving.
Any thoughts?

Any idea if this body will fit an M03 or is the servo height too high to look right?

I had one on my M05, and it only just fit when using the front shocks in layed down position. If you're using an M05 with the front shock tower, or the M03, there is no way it will fit ... unless you want to cut holes in the body and have the shock tops poking out :-)
